Nokia Lumia 1320 First Impressions
HIGHLIGHTS

From having no large screen device to having two phablets in its portfolio. Windows Phone OS is really show some promise now.

Nokia India ushered in the New Year with the announcement of the Lumia 1320, Nokia’s second phone-tablet hybrid running the Windows Phone platform. It is interesting how the Windows Phone platform has gone from having no phablets to having two variants in a matter of months.

We were at the launch event for the Nokia Lumia 1320, which has been pegged at Rs. 23,999 and got to use the device first hand. The first thing we noticed about the phablet is of course its gorgeous 6 inch display. The screen chugs along at a resolution of 1280×720, not quite as impressive as the Lumia 1520 which has a screen toting 1920×1080 pixels, but even so, the display is very impressive. In case you’re wondering, the Lumia 13020 has an IPS LCD screen, so photographers should love it.

The phone itself is just 9.8mm thick, which is quite impressive seeing how there is a 1.7GHz Dual Snapdragon processor paired with 1GB of RAM. This allowed us to have a very fluid experience while using rhe phone, in the sense that it didn’t hang or stutter. We even played Gameloft’s Modern Combat 4, the mobile version of CoD/Battlefield mashup which gamers would know to be a heavy game.

Overall, the phone itself is very light, and while it is somewhat large but regardless of that, the phone feels very well balanced. The weight distribution is good, meaning it’s unlikely that it will tip over oif you’re engaged in one-handed use. It has exchangeable shells (a choice of orange, red, yellow and white) which have a matte finish.
You can watch the video below for our initial impressions of the Lumia 1320 shot at the launch event.
