With pre-Mobile World Congress day coming to an end, we have seen a host of new phones being launched. Among these, two phones that seem highly identical to each other are the Moto G5 and the Nokia 5. Unveiled today, and to be introduced in India soon, the two smartphones offer acceptable specifications for the price at which they are unveiled globally. Here's looking at what these two smartphones have on offer.
The mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 will power both the devices, while both include 2GB of RAM. The Moto G5 houses 32GB native storage against Nokia 5's 16GB, although both support microSD cards of up to 128GB. In terms of battery support, while the Moto G5 has a removable 2800mAh battery, the Nokia 5 has a non-removable 3000mAh battery. The Nokia 5 has a slightly bigger, 5.2-inch display, although the Moto G5 has the higher screen resolution. The Moto G5 has a 5-inch, Full HD display, with the Nokia 5 housing a 5.2-inch HD display. The one element that works in favour of the Nokia 5 is the inclusion of Google Assistant.
Both the smartphones house premium builds, with both companies using full metal bodies on the phones, along with integrated fingerprint sensors. In terms of pricing, the Moto G5 costs EUR 199 (Rs. 14,000), while the Nokia 5 cost EUR 189 (Rs. 13,300).
Seeing how closely knit they are, it will be interesting to see how well they perform in India. Nokia has the edge in terms of its emotional connect with users, but even Moto holds its own when it comes to brand presence. Expect both the smartphones to be made available in India, soon.
