First Impressions: LG Nexus 5X from the eyes of a Nexus 5 user
HIGHLIGHTS

Google and LG today announced the launch of the Nexus 5X smartphone in India. the smartphone is a successor to the Nexus 5 and Lg's third Nexus smartphone.

Let's face it, the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 were not only attractive because of the hardware powering the devices, but the price point at which they were launched. The Nexus 6 on the other hand was overpriced and underwhelming. Today though we have with us the Nexus 5X. The smartphone is manufactured by LG and this is its third Nexus device after the Nexus 4 and 5.

The LG Nexus 5X is available in 2 storage options, 16GB and 32GB priced at Rs. 31,990 and Rs. 35,900 respectively. Coming to the specifications of the smartphone, it has a 5.2-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, the device has a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset with a quad-core 1.44GHz Cortex-A53 & dual-core 1.82GHz Cortex-A57 processor, along with 2 GB of RAM. It also has the Adreno 418 GPU.

The back of the Nexus 5X has a 12.3MP camera with a 1.55µm pixel size. There have been quite a few claims with the camera of the smartphone. In our experience with the smartphone at the launch event, the camera was really fast but we will reserve our final image quality verdict for our full review. A non-removable Li-Po 2700mAh battery powers the device.

I am one that enjoys using smartphones with small screens and I'm happy to say that the 5.2-inch display made me feel right at home. The smartphone I got my hands on at the event was ice blue in colour and it looks quite attractive.

Sticking with the back, the phone also has a fingerprint sensor on it. Its positioning is ideal for the forefinger and unlocking the device from here feels natural.

Coming to the OS, I have been using Android 6.0 marshmallow for some time now (on the Nexus 5) and it felt right at home on the Nexus 5X.

Overall the Nexus 5X will be a very familiar device for those using a Nexus 5. It's compact, light and fits in my palm perfectly for single handed usage. Whether it's worth the asking price is something we will tell you when we review the smartphone.
