HIGHLIGHTS

We pit the new Lenovo Vibe K5 Note against the LeEco Le 2, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and the Moto G4 Plus, three of the very best mid-tier smartphones in India.

Lenovo has just unveiled the Vibe K5 Note in India. The phone sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display, and is powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 SoC. At the back of the device is a 13MP camera, while at the front is an 8MP camera. The device offers 32GB of storage, and is equipped with a 3500mAh battery, which the company says is enough to last for about 18 hours of talktime on 3G.

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is available in two variants, one with 3GB of RAM and the other with 4GB of RAM. The two are priced at Rs. 11,999 and Rs, 13,499, respectively. At this price, the phone will face stiff competition in India against some of the most popular devices in this budget and mid-tier segment, like the LeEco Le 2, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Moto G4 Plus. Here is how the four devices stack up against each other. Please note that for this comparison, only the highest variants of the devices have been taken in account.

While all the devices seem similar or at least comparable at similar prices, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note has the upper hand in terms of available memory. Meanwhile, the other smartphones in the list are powered by Qualcomm processors, which have proven their mettle in our tests. The MediaTek Helio P10 SoC, meanwhile has not fared equally well in similar conditions, although a lot would depend on how well Lenovo manages to optimise the performance of the chipset for the smartphone. This comparison is not exhaustive, but gives a fair indication of what we may expect from the Vibe K5 Note. Stay tuned for our detailed review of the new smartphone in India.
