iQOO launched the Neo 7 in India on February 16, 2023, and it faces stiff competition from Nothing Phone 1 which launched in July 2022. Both iQOO Neo 7 and Nothing Phone 1 weigh pretty much the same and share a comparable front camera setup, Android 13 software, and 120Hz AMOLED displays. They both begin with 8GB RAM plus 128GB storage and their starting prices are also in close-range. But as the title suggests, there are differences too, which is why you are here. Let’s compare the specs of both these phones to know which one makes sense for you.
1. Design
While iQOO has a plastic back that doesn’t demand any attention, Nothing Phone 1’s rear glass back is an eye-grabber. The so-called Glyph interface lights up in different instances, offering various use cases, which makes it one of a kind feature.
The glass front plus glass back plus aluminium frame of Nothing Phone 1 is premium compared to the plastic back and plastic frame on iQOO Neo 7.
2. Display
While both offer 120Hz AMOLED with FHD+ resolution, AOD support, and HDR10+ support, Neo 7 offers a higher peak brightness of 1300 nits. Nothing offers Gorilla Glass 5 protection, which the iQOO phone misses.
3. Software
Even though Nothing Phone 1 boots with Android 12, it is upgradeable to Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5.2. This is closer stock compared to iQOO Neo 7’s Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13. So, if you prefer minimal software, then go with Nothing and if you want more features and customizations, then iQOO Neo 7 should suit you better.
4. Internals
iQOO Neo 7 ships with 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC while Nothing Phone 1 has a 6nm Snapdragon 778G+ chipset at the helm of power. Speaking of which, you get a 4500mAh battery with 33W charging support on the Nothing Phone 1 while iQOO arms the Neo 7 with a 5000mAh juice bank backed by 120 watts of high-speed charging.
Nothing Phone 1 gives WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C 2.0, NFC, 5G, and Infrared whereas, the iQOO Neo 7 offers newer WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3. It also has a USB-C port and NFC, but no Infrared.
