There are expensive Android smartphones, and then there is this. The HTC Butterfly is definitely the most powerful smartphone (or phablet, if you swing that way) in its category, by far. At the time of this video review, we were running some benchmark tests and it is blowing the “most-powerful-Android-phones-till-now” out of the water. That is all we will say about the performance of the Butterfly, with the comparative scores with the closest rivals waiting to be revealed in the detailed review to follow!
What impresses us even more is the excellent packaging of the Butterfly – in terms of materials used, and even more so for the slimness of the package. For a phone with a 5-inch display, it remains surprisingly comfortable for single hand operation and pocketability.
Speaking of which, the 1080p HD display is something worth dying for. Compare it with any smartphone, side-by-side, and the extra text crispness, very good black depth and good viewing angles make this by far the best smartphone display till date.
In a nutshell, you will be spending a lot of money on the Butterfly, if you decide to buy it. The performance, build quality and the amazing display, make it money well spent though. The point is however; will you be able to justify spending this much on a phone? We get a lot of queries like this from our readers, but our answer always remains the same – it is very subjective, and every individual will justify (or attempt to justify) it in a different way.
