Hottest new smartphone launches under Rs 40,000 that you should check-out
Buying a smartphone is never an easy task. There are just so many options to choose from. Not only do users have to consider something within a set budget, but they also have to consider features and hardware on offer.
As a rule of thumb, it’s usually a good idea to buy a recently launched smartphone. These devices tend to offer the best in terms of technology and features. However, even this isn’t easy as smartphone manufacturers have been releasing phones left, right and centre, especially under the Rs 40,000 mark. Phones under this price range usually tend to offer very good value, making them quite the option for those looking to get the most bang for their buck.
To make things a bit easier here’s a look at five of the hottest sub-Rs 40,000 smartphones launched recently in India.
vivo X60
The vivo X60 is the newest flagship smartphone from the brand. As such, it packs pretty much everything you would expect from a flagship smartphone. This includes a top-notch Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC with support for 5G connectivity. It also comes with up to 12GB of RAM to keep things running smoothly. However, vivo’s phones are known for their focus on camera quality along with their attention to design. As such, the vivo X60 is no different.
The smartphone sports a triple-rear camera setup with a 48MP+13MP+13MP configuration. The 48MP unit is the primary camera and features an f/1.79 aperture. The 13MP sensor is the telephoto camera and offers 2X optical zoom. The final 13MP unit packs an ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field-of-view.
For its flagship smartphone, vivo has partnered with ZEISS to create an imaging system that passes all testing processes performed by ZEISS. On top of this, the vivo X60 is able to replicate the Biotar Portrait style seen in ZEISS Biotar cameras. This style sees a sharp focus on the subject, with a signature rotational bokeh.

The vivo X60 also combines Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) with Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) to create stable videos that feature minimal shakes. The stability offered by the system is combined with the company’s Extreme Night Vision 2.0 technology to create brighter and clearer images in low light. vivo notes that this tech makes use of its updated AI Noise Reduction system to make images clearer.
The vivo X60 comes with the company’s Ultra O Screen that places a tiny punch-hole centrally at the top of the display. Vivo notes that placement helps avoid the user’s eyes from drifting when taking a selfie. As for the display itself, the phone sports a 6.56-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2376x1080p. The display offers a refresh rate of 120Hz, which should make scrolling and transitions quite smooth. As if that wasn’t enough, the display also offers support for HDR10+ for more natural-looking videos. This, combined with the Hi-Res Audio certification should ensure an enjoyable experience for movie buffs.
The vivo X60 is no slouch when it comes to design either. The rear panel of the device sports AG Glass and features a smooth matte finish. This design should ensure that the rear panel is free from any fingerprints or smudges. The phone is available in two colour variants, Shimmer Blue and Midnight Black.
