Honor’s newest smartphone, the Honor 9 Lite, sports a bunch of eye-catching features that are sure to turn heads such as a beautiful 18:9 display as well as the quad-camera setup. However, besides the usual suspects, the smartphone has a lot of other cool features that you might have missed. Here are 5 of them.
Dual 2.5D glass
While this feature might be quite in your face, it’s easy not to notice it. The Honor 9 Lite comes with a dual 2.5D glass design in which the front and back of the device feature a glass panel that merges almost seamlessly with the metal frame. On top of this, you also get a combination of a nano-etched design and Patterned Physical Vapor Deposition technology (PPVD) technology that makes the phone stand out from the crowd.
F2FS file system
Another cool feature of the Honor 9 Lite is the fact that it supports F2FS file system. Unlike older file systems like FAT32 or NTFS, the F2FS file system is specifically made for flash storage systems. As a result, you get more optimised system caching and effective defragmentation. It’s one of those features that works in the background and makes your smartphone run much better.
Face unlock
Move over fingerprint sensors, there is now a new unlocking mechanism in town — The Honor 9 Lite comes with face unlock. As the name would suggest, the feature lets you unlock your phone just by facing the phone. It’s really that simple.
Ride mode
Ride mode is a new feature that is aimed at making your bike ride a lot safer. You turn it ON before you start riding, and once activated, it notifies all incoming callers that you are riding and can’t answer the call. If it is an emergency, the caller can press 1 to make the call go through. Nice to know Mobile manufacturers focusing on consumer safety!
Chip-level security
With the threat of hackers on the rise, Honor has ensured that your Biometric data is securely protected from unscrupulous individuals. The Honor 9 Lite features chip-level security in which your biometric information is stored isolated and encrypted.
