The Honor 6X is the latest dual-camera smartphone to be launched in the Honor lineup by Huawei. At Rs.12,999, it is also one of the cheapest dual-camera smartphones in the market, which is reason enough to turn a couple of heads. However, for that amount, there are plenty of strong contenders in the market. Let’s see if the Honor 6X packs a punch strong enough to stand out from the crowd.
The biggest feature of the phone is obviously the dual-camera setup. The Honor 6X consists of a 12MP primary rear camera, which is aided by a 2MP secondary rear camera. The use of two cameras offers a wider aperture range (F/0.95-F/16), helping users blur the background and get bokeh effects. Furthermore, the setup also lets users change the focus of a photograph after a picture has been taken. So if you accidentally focused on something else while snapping the picture, you can re-focus the image back onto the subject later. No pressure.
The Honor 6X also comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 655 SoC and runs EMUI 4.1, which is based on Android Marshmallow. The device is available in two variants – one with 3GB RAM/32GB storage and the other with 4GB RAM/64GB storage.
Two other smartphones that the Honor 6X goes up against in the same price bracket, are the LeEco Le 2, and the newly launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. The LeEco Le 2 was launched last year and is powered by a Snapdragon 652 SoC, while the Redmi Note 4 is powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC. Let’s take a look at how these three phones stack up against each other.
Honor 6X | Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 | LeEco Le 2 | |

As one can see, the Honor 6X is the only smartphone amongst the three to offer a dual-rear camera setup. In other features, the phone is either equal to, or better than that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 or the LeEco Le 2. This makes the Honor 6X a good choice to consider for this budget if you are looking for a camera-centric smartphone.
