Here’s how the Honor 9 Lite fulfills your need for speed
The Honor 9 Lite sports an octa-core processor along with a number of other features that aim to offer a speedy experience to users
“Time is money” — that would explain why a slow phone frustrates many. The ‘slow phone’ problem is most prevalent in the budget category, where most manufacturers use slower processors to reach the required price point. Honor’s newest smartphone, the Honor 9 Lite, might feature the word ‘Lite’ in its name, but is hardly a lightweight when it comes to performance. Honor knows that no one likes a slow phone and had tuned the hardware and software in order to offer a balance between performance and price.
Octa-core processor
You can’t talk about performance, and not bring up the processor. The Honor 9 Lite is powered by Huawei’s own HiSilicon Kirin 659octa-coreSoC, clocked at 2.3GHz. This is the same processor found in the budget flagship-Honor 7X. This SoC is manufactured using the 16nm process, which means that you get better performance along with improved efficiency. You also get the option of 4+64 and 3+32 GB variant for faster multitasking.
Latest taste of Android
The Honor 9 Lite runs the latest EMUI 8.0, which is based on Google’s Android Oreooperating system. Besides a bunch of new features, the new OS also comes with a slicker interface that is aimed at being smoother than its predecessors. On top of this, you get to enjoy improved security from malware.
Faster browsing
Android Oreo with EMUI 8 on top, offers a bunch of new features that makes browsing a much faster experience. The first feature is called AutoFill and automatically fills out the login details (with your permission of course). This means that you won’t have to waste time filling your details. There are also Instant Apps, which let you use apps straight from the browser, negating the time it would take you to download and install them.
Quick unlock
The fingerprint sensor on the back of the device is just as snappy. Instead of typing in your PIN or drawing a password everytime you want to unlock your phone, the Honor 9 lite lets you unlock your device quickly using your finger. In fact, the company says that the sensor can unlock the phone in about 0.25 seconds.
With the new OTA update, you can now unlock your phone with your face. A feature that was only available in flagship pocket burning devices.
Speedy clicks
One of the highlights of the Honor 9 Lite is its quad-camera setup with dual-cameras on the front and back of the device. The 13MP + 2MP cameras on the back of the device are aided with Phase Detection Autofocus, or PDAF. This lets technology offers faster focusing speeds, which makes ensures that you’ll be able to click away to your heart’s content.
