This time of the year is particularly exciting for tech enthusiasts, as many flagship smartphones launch in the first quarter of the year. Interestingly, this year, January appears to be the epicentre of these launches. This is because two of the major flagship smartphone series are set to launch this month. These smartphones are the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and OnePlus 12 series. Last year, predecessors of both these smartphones rolled out in February. Along with these two smartphone series, Xiaomi and Poco also have really exciting offerings this month. Let’s check out the top 4 launches of January 2024.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series (January 17)

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series will most likely include three models as usual; the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Speaking of the specifications, it’s not out yet but we do have some ideas. The Galaxy S24 series is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset. Furthermore, this smartphone series is said to feature a lot of AI features. The high-end Galaxy S24 Ultra might come with the Galaxy AI.

OnePlus 12 series (January 23)

The OnePlus 12 launched in China in December 2023 and is coming to India on January 23. Interestingly, the OnePlus 12 is not launching alone in India, it will be joined by the OnePlus 12R on January 23.

Speaking of its specifications, it features a 6.82-inch 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display that has a 1440 x 3168 pixels resolution and up to 4500 nits of peak brightness. The OnePlus 12 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor paired with up to 24GB RAM and 1TB storage. Moreover, it is packed with a 5400mAh battery that supports 100-watt fast charging and 50-watt wireless charging.

For photography, it has a triple camera setup on the back holding a 50-megapixel OIS main camera, a 64-megapixel Periscope Telephoto lens, and a 48-megapixel Ultrawide lens. On the front, there is a 36-megapixel selfie shooter.

Redmi Note 13 series (January 4)

Xiaomi rolled out its latest ‘Note’ series in India on January 4. It includes three smartphones; the Redmi Note 13 5G, Note 13 Pro 5G, and Note 13 Pro Plus 5G. Xiaomi has made some really good changes to the top-end Note 13 Pro Plus. However, the prices have also been hiked.

Let’s talk about Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus specifications. We now get a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display that supports FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. This smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset coupled with LPDDR5 RAM. As for the battery, it boasts a 5000mAh battery with 120-watt fast charging support.

Talking about its cameras, a triple-camera setup on the back holds a 200-megapixel OIS main camera, an 8-megapixel Ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel Macro sensor. On the front, it sports a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.

Poco X6 Pro (January 11)

The Poco X6 Pro is all set to launch on January 11. Interestingly, it will be the first smartphone in India to run on HyperOS out of the box. The HyperOS is Xiaomi’s latest skin based on the Android 14 operating system. Furthermore, the Poco X6 Pro could be packed with a 6.67-inch 120Hz 1.5K LTPS display. The MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra might power the smartphone, according to a report by 91mobiles. It is rumoured to boast a 5000mAh battery that supports up to 67-watt fast charging.

The Poco X6 Pro will reportedly feature a 67-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel Ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel Macro sensor.
