Face off: Samsung Galaxy Note vs. HTC Sensation XL

Updated on 01-Apr-2012

Quite clearly, the smartphones have the ambition to become bigger – at least as far as display size is concerned. Hybrids – that was the name given to this category of phones. With bigger than conventional display sizes, these devices are trying to fill in the gap between the smartphones (4-inch approx. display size) and the tablets (starting 7-inch display size).

Samsung’s Galaxy Note (read our review) really brought this category to the forefront, and delivered two surprising results – unexpectedly good performance and how quickly the consumers lapped it up. HTC responded with the Sensation XL. While the Note has a 5.3-inch display, the XL has a smaller 4.7-inch one. Probably, the idea was to keep the device well within the boundaries of being pocketable.

A detailed review of the Sensation XL will follow soon. However, we ran the benchmarks on both devices, and here is a graphical representation of how the two compare.
