HTC One M8 Eye vs Sony Xperia Z3 vs iPhone 6: Camera comparison
A one on one comparison of the imaging prowess of the three latest flagship smartphones- the HTC One M8 Eye, Sony Xperia Z3 and the iPhone 6
HTC recently announced the One M8 Eye, an updated version of the original M8 which now sports a dual 13MP camera module. We loved how HTC had incorporated some interesting features, especially re-focusing, in its camera app and the company now claims that it is even better than before thanks to the updated software and hardware.
Sony has been using the same sensor since the Z1, but with the latest Xperia Z3 you now get an ISO boost of 12800, which is the highest on any smartphone camera. Also, you get the option of clicking photos up to a resolution of 20.7MP.
With the iPhone 6 now officially available in India, we were eager to test the camera. Apple has always been consistent in providing an excellent camera. Apple is again using an 8MP sensor, but there has been refinements in the overall processing of the images.
We took all three of these smartphones and did a quick test of the cameras. Check out the sample shots below:

In the short test, we found that the Xperia Z3 definitely offers better low light performance and true to life colours. The iPhone 6 is yet again excellent with its great auto-white balance, natural colours and controlled exposure. The HTC One M8 Eye however was dissapointing as the white balance was off and in low light we could easily see graininess.
So will you be buying any of the above smartphones? Do tell us.
