If you’re looking for a powerful smartphone on a budget, then the Honor Play has to be on your radar. The phone is powered by the company’s flagship chipset, the octa-core Kirin 970, which is the same one that powers the Honor 10. The chipset also sport a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which aims to make AI related tasks run faster and more efficiently.

Thanks to the NPU, the Honor Play is able to offer a number of AI features. This includes an AI assisted camera that is capable of automatically recognising 22 different categories and 500 scenarios in real time. The phone then automatically changes the camera settings in order to take the best images. AI is also used by the front camera, which uses its capabilities to mimic studio lighting.

The Honor Play also comes with a number of gaming-centric features. This includes its new GPU Turbo tech. The new technology promises to offer a 60% increase in performance, while decreasing power consumption by 30%. Other gaming-centric features include 3D Surround Sound and 4D Smart Shock.
