55 percent prefer ‘pure’ Android phones over Nokia X: Poll

55 percent prefer ‘pure’ Android phones over Nokia X: Poll
HIGHLIGHTS

Majority of readers say they would prefer a pure Android smartphone over the Nokia's Android-based X smartphone.

After years of waiting, rumours and speculations, Android on Nokia finally became a reality with the new X series smartphones. As expected, the Nokia X seriess smartphones grabbed everyone’s attention with its unique value proposition. With Nokia’s known build quality coupled with an already popular and dominating Android OS, the Nokia X seemed a great concept.

After the launch, the Nokia X has seen a mixed response. While supporters have appreciated the Windows Phone, Android, and Asha mashup, critics have slammed the device for its laggy user interface, little app optimisation and lower end hardware.

We recently conducted a poll to seek your views on the new Nokia X. We asked you “Do you think the Nokia X is a phone worth buying?” We received a total of 1539 votes. The majority of you (852) said “No. The Nokia X is an Android phone only in name and I’d rather buy a ‘pure’ Android phone at that price.”

However, about 358 said the Nokia X combines great quality and Android OS at an affordable price. About 329 were undecided on the issue, though agreed that the device needs some more time in the market to establish itself.
