The Dell Latitude 7455 is making waves with Qualcomm’s latest processors designed to supercharge productivity for professionals on the move. This 14-inch laptop offers two impressive configurations: the Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100, boasting eight performance cores and four efficiency cores, and the budget-friendly Snapdragon X Plus X1P-64-100, which features two fewer performance cores. Both configurations feature an NPU chip, elevating AI performance for demanding tasks.
From a design perspective, the Latitude 7455 adheres to Dell’s classic business look. Its aluminium chassis is sturdy and feels premium, although the lid’s requirement for two hands to open is a bit of an inconvenience.
The laptop features thin bezels framing a vibrant display, while the 1080p IR webcam with a privacy shutter sits conveniently above the screen. A smart lid design also elevates the base when opened past 90 degrees, enhancing airflow through the single heat pipe cooling system.
The backlit keyboard offers spacious keycaps with good travel and feedback. A dedicated Copilot key provides quick access to Microsoft’s AI features, while the power button doubles as a fingerprint reader.
The Latitude 7455 features a four-speaker audio system and connectivity is also robust, with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support.
Coming to the ports, on the left you’ll find two 40 Gbps USB4 ports with DisplayPort 2.1 and Power Delivery, along with a MicroSD card slot. The right side houses an audio combo jack and a 5 Gbps USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port.
While there’s only one display option, it’s a noteworthy one. The WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS touchscreen promises stunning visuals and sharp details, making it great for both work and entertainment.
During our testing, we got a peak average brightness of 460 nits, which is great. Colour accuracy is also great; we tested 94.2 percent sRGB and 70.8 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage.
In terms of performance, we’ve got the top-end Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100 CPU, hitting 4.00 GHz on performance cores and 3.40 GHz on efficiency cores. However, with ARM-based Windows machines being fairly recent in the market, we did come across several compatibility issues when it comes to benchmarks. That said, we were able to benchmark both the CPU and integrated GPU with tests that had received updates as of testing the laptop.
For the CPU, we ran Geekbench 6, Cinebench R23 and Cinebench 2024.
The scores are pretty decent across the board, comparable to the Intel Core Ultra 7, especially single-core performance. There is a significant dip in performance over time however, as can be seen in the R23 throttle test.
We used 3DMark to test the synthetic gaming performance of the Adreno iGPU, and again the scores are solid. Good enough to even play older AAA titles comfortably on the laptop. We would advise against gaming on small form factor laptops however, as they tend to run hot and we’ve already noted a throttle in performance over time.
The single cooling fan operates quietly but can become audible under heavy load, with temperatures peaking around 45 degrees Celsius in the WASD cluster. While this may feel warm, it remains within acceptable limits for this type of device.
Battery life is commendable. During our video loop battery test, the laptop lasted for 885 minutes. That’s close to 15 hours. That makes this a reliable laptop for a full day of work without needing a recharge.
Priced at ₹1,59,990, the X1E-80-100 variant of the Dell Latitude 7455 is a great choice for those in search of a dependable device that excels in productivity and battery life. With the new Qualcomm CPU, a durable aluminium build, and high-resolution display it’s tailored for professionals prioritising performance and portability. That said, keep in mind that ARM-based Windows machines are still new on the block, and there will be compatibility issues.
