CES 2025: Laptop innovations from Dell, HP and Lenovo
At CES 2025, industry leaders Dell, HP, and Lenovo introduced some groundbreaking laptops that hope to set new benchmarks in design, performance, and user experience.
Let’s take a closer look at what these heavyweight laptop brands revealed at the world’s largest consumer electronics show.
Dell Pro 14 Premium: Making business laptops cooler?
We all know that business laptops tend to look drab, boring and generally lack character. After killing off Inspiron and XPS, and Latitude and Precision, Dell’s trying to change all of that and more at its rebranding from CES 2025 onward, of course. Dell’s Pro 14 Premium, part of its rebranded lineup, offers a 14-inch OLED tandem display that enhances brightness and extends battery life.

Powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra 7 Series processors, it supports up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB SSD storage. The dual-fan thermal design ensures quieter operation, and modular USB-C ports facilitate easier servicing. Additional features include enhanced webcam capabilities and a unique “Collaboration touchpad” for improved productivity, something that businesses will likely find useful.
HP Omen Max 16: HP’s most powerful gaming laptop
HP didn’t shy away at CES 2025, oh no sir! As mentioned above, the Omen Max 16 is HP’s most powerful gaming laptop to date, featuring next-generation NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 graphics and options for Intel Core Ultra 9 or AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX processors – so you can pick and choose your chip allegiance, if you will.

Its advanced cooling system, with reverse-spinning fans and a hybrid cryo compound with a vapor chamber, ensures optimal thermal management. The Omen AI software optimizes performance settings, while customizable RGB lighting is controlled through the Omen Light Studio.
Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable AI PC: Pioneering flexible displays in laptops
Saving the best for the last, Lenovo made a huge splash at CES 2025. You see, Lenovo’s ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 introduces a rollable OLED display that expands from 14 inches to 16.7 inches at the push of a button or via palm gestures, enhancing productivity and multitasking capabilities. It is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 Series processor, complemented by 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD.

The laptop has been tested for durability, enduring at least 30,000 lid movements and 20,000 screen rolls. However, software limitations may inhibit its full potential (we think), as the extended screen is treated as a separate monitor in Windows, requiring Lenovo’s built-in applications for effective use.
