Weekend viewing guide: 7 trailers to while away the time

HIGHLIGHTS

Trailers give us something to talk about, something that won't change anyone's life, but are so important to many of us!

I had a really bad experience watching Jungle Book the other day. The theatre I went to first lost audio and then lost 3D capabilities. For a large part of the movie, I was putting my 3D glasses on and off. It was terrible, and since they chose Jungle Book, of all movies, it’s a childhood ruined. Soon I was out, sitting on the passenger seat, and most smartphone slaves, my fingers went to the Facebook app. The new Doctor Strange trailer was out!

Soon I was chatting with my friend about Doctor Strange and the nuances of the Marvel Universe, forgetting the terrible movie experience in a cinema that calls itself India’s best. Trailers are fun, they give you something to look forward to. They give you something to discuss. Something that will not change anyone’s life, and a good trailer is in many ways, the stepping stone to a good movie. So, what are you watching this weekend?

Doctor Strange

How will Benedict Cumberbatch’s American accent turn out? Well, this trailer will give you an idea. The cape of levitation is ready and Doctor Strange is making his way to the big screen. Say what you will, I personally loved the trailer, and can’t wait for the movie. Marvel is finally bringing the Sorcerer Supreme to its movie universe and we here at Digit, are excited!

Captain America: Civil War

This trailer was introduced by Captain America himself, at the MTV Movie Awards, recently. Chris Evans leads the charge in the newest Captain America trailer and given the fact that the first reviews are already out, this is a movie worth looking forward to. It’s a pivotal movie for the Marvel Universe as well.

Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad is shaping up to be the best superhero (rather, villain) movie of all time.

7 Days to Die

The Playstation 4 and Xbox versions for 7 Days to Die is set to arrive in June this year, and this is the announcement trailer. Over 1.5 million copies of the game have already been sold for the PC, and it’s time for console gamers to join the party.

Titanfall 2

A jungle, a huge sword and something that looks, to me, like a broken R2D2 unit, that’s the teaser trailer for Titanfall 2. It’s one of the most eagerly awaited games of the year, and June 12 is really not that far away.

Gear of War 4

It doesn’t matter whether you liked the first Gear of War games or not, you’ll watch this trailer. Disturbed’s cover of Sound of Silence makes this trailer eery and really interesting.

Dark Souls 3

The third iteration of Dark Souls and all the blood and violence that comes with it. To borrow from the trailer itself, “You will face death”.

Shadwen

I’m a stealth action fan, which is why Shadwen is one of the games I’m looking forward to this year. Set for release in May 2016, here’s the announcement trailer.

Prasid Banerjee

Trying to explain technology to my parents. Failing miserably.
