You’ve probably seen a lot of top mobile game lists, we know we have. And we usually always see the same few games over and over again (might be a few in this list too). While it’s true that they’re picked up and played a LOT more, we decided to go with 18 mobile games that we think you should definitely pick up and play if you get the chance. These are pretty well-known games, and a lot of them come with a price tag, but we assure you, most of them are worth every penny. Also, all games on this list are available on both Android and iOS.
Rayman Jungle Run is a very good mobile platformer. If you haven’t played it, we recommend you check it out. It’s not too heavy on the pocket too. By making the game an autorunner, the problem of a crowded screen is taken care off. The game has crisp controls and the pacing is perfect and rewards you for replaying and getting better times.
Price (Google Play/App Store) – Rs 79/Rs 249
We had a bit of an argument about whether Lara Croft GO or Hitman GO should have been on the list. We decided to go with this one. Releasing about a year after Hitman GO, Lara Croft borrows the same board game like puzzle genre of Hitman GO, but further refines aspects of the game and improves on the puzzles.

Plants vs Zombies is a classic when it comes to mobile games. Normally when we think zombie defence the first thing that comes to mind isn’t usually plants, but these plants are nasty. This game requires smarts and is also fun, and if you’re an avid mobile gamer, you probably already have this in your library.

Like Plants vs Zombies, Angry Birds has been around forever. The franchise has dished out title after title with slight variations that didn’t really change too much. We wanted variation, and we got that with Angry Birds Star Wars. It was a mish-mash of the anti-grav in Angry Birds Space with the craziness of Star Wars thrown in.

This War of Mine is a hard hitting story. It's a game that revolves not around the soldiers, as is the norm, but the civilians, who are desperately trying to survive a war. Every resource you find, every scrap of wood has weight behind it, weight you wouldn't expect in a mobile game. It comes with a rather heavy price tag though, unfortunately.

Monument Valley is a gorgeous puzzle game where you take control of a little girl as you travel through a world of topsy-turvy wonder. Incredibly simple to play, with increasingly fun and challenging levels, this game is worth every penny.

Super Hexagon is one of those games that's incredibly simple, but incredibly hard at the same time. One of those. The challenge is addictive. You only need to last a minute. You can do that right? Nope. You die. Over and over and over again. Finally, you manage to last a whole minute. You've done it! But wait.. that was just the lowest difficulty.

Threes! Is a deceptively addictive game that’ll have you dreaming about number tiles and the multiples of the number three. Once you get the hang of it, you can’t help but keep trying over and over again to get a higher score, to reach a number higher than the last time you lost. The game’s all about thinking on your feet, where any new number tile could mess up your intricate plans.

We needn’t really say much about Pokemon GO. Capitalising on the phenomenon that is Pokemon, Pokemon GO took the world by storm. It did something that no other game has managed to do at this scale, bring hordes of people into the great outdoors. The craze has died down, but don’t worry if you missed the train, there are still dedicated trainers out there.

Minecraft is the best selling game in the world for a reason. The game that took the world by storm, and probably propelled all the “Let’s Play” YouTubers to stardom. Minecraft is a simple game on the surface but brings so much to the table. It’s also a great place for you to express your creativity, we’ve seen some insane works of art being born in this game.

PUBG Mobile gets a whopping 30 million monthly players. That’s crazy. It’s also way higher than its PC counterpart. For good reason. Even though the game’s a buggy mess on both platforms, it runs pretty well on mobile. Then there’s the fact that there are heaps of features on PUBG Mobile that we’d love to see in its PC counterpart. Besides, what better way to get into the exciting Battle Royale genre?

Some might argue that Ridiculous Fishing costs a lot for the content it offers, but the content it offers is top tier content. It's sad that there's no more content. This is a game that's wacky and stands out. Like the name suggests, you probably wouldn't think of catching fish this way. You probably wouldn’t think it would be this fun either.

Wayward Souls is a full-blown action RPG experience, on mobile. You could call it not only one of the best mobile games, but one of the best action RPGs ever. This is not an easy game to play or master, but think Dark Souls, when you succeed, it just feels that good.

World of Good is good. It’s really good. The award winning game was easily among the best games of the year it was released. The game’s all about building your way out of a pickle, and that means there’s n number of ways a level could turn out. The game’s incredibly fun, definitely worth picking up if you enjoy puzzle games oozing with charm.

Anomaly Warzone Earth does something unique, and it does it really well, which is why it’s on this list. You’ve probably heard of Tower Defense games. Well, Anomaly Warzone Earth is one, but (of course there’s a but), you’re not the one defending. That’s right, you’re the attacking force this time around. This is a fun RTS game for mobile, and even though it’s almost a decade old, it still holds up.
Price – Rs 220/Rs 280
Where's my water, like Angry Birds and Plants vs Zombies before it has been around for a long long time. But, of the three, we'd say we enjoyed it the most, purely because of how innovative the game becomes as you progress through the levels and come across more and more complex obstacles that you have to get around in order for Swampy to get his water.
