Its battery life is average for the price you pay but its benchmark scores are impressive and in some cases surpass tablets twice its price. The touchscreen interface is smooth. The build of the tablet too is good and the only problem we faced with it is that it took a little too long to charge.
In terms of its specifications, the Lava E-Tab Xtron has a 7-inch IPS display with 1024×600 pixel resolution. A 1.5GHz dual-core processor along with 1GB of RAM powers it. The tablet has 8GB built-in storage expandable up to 32GB via a micro SD card. It also houses a 2MP front camera and shows off Wi-Fi connectivity. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. A 3500mAh battery powers the entire package.
Zync Dual 7
For Rs. 5,990 you get a 7-inch tablet that has a 1.6GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in storage. The tablet runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean straight out-of-the-box. The 7-inch display has a resolution of 480×800 pixels. The rear of the tablet hoses a 2MP camera and the front has a 0.3MP camera. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a 3000mAh battery powers the entire package.
The unique thing about this Zync Dual 7 is that it has a quad-core Mali GPU that means that the gaming capabilities of this tablet are very impressive. Graphically heavy games such as Dead Trigger too run very smoothly on the tablet. The interface of the tablet is smooth considering the price. The only downside to the tablet is that the web browsing experience on it could have been better.
WickedLeak Wammy Desire
The Wammy Desire was one of the first budget tablets to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean straight out-of-the-box. It has a great build for a tablet priced under Rs. 7000. The build feels premium and gives you the feeling of owning a large GPS navigation device and that is a good thing. The UI is vanilla and the interface is quite smooth. In its benchmarks too the tablet scored way better than its brethren. The touch response of the display too is good. The only downside to the tablet is that the battery life is shorter than we’d like.

Micromax Funbook Infinity
To start with the Funbook Infinity has the speakers in the front which is great of you will be consuming multimedia content. The device also has slightly rounded edges adding to the grip. For a Rs. 5,000 tablet, the device is really snappy and also boasts of the ability to play HD videos. Apart from access to the Play store you also have access to local content like Bollywood news and more via the MStore. The gaming capabilities of the tablet may not be the best but you can run most of the popular games on it nonetheless. The one downside to the tablet is that with heavy multitasking, the tablet will begin to lag.

If you are looking for a 10-inch tablet with the ability to play most of the games from the Play store then this is the tablet for you. But playing the graphically-intensive Dead Trigger on the tablet did make it lag quite a bit. The audio from the tablet too is good, especially while running apps. It has 4GB built-in storage expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card, supports Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi as well as an external 3G data via a USB dongle. The HCL ME V1 runs on a 3200mAh battery.
The interface on the tablet is lightly skinned. If you are looking for a tablet with the ability to make calls then you can definitely consider this device. You also have access to the HCL Me App store to satisfy your app needs. The viewing angles of the display may not be the best but browsing the Internet and reading text was a pleasant experience.
iBall Slide i6012
The iBall Slide is a slightly older tablet but it is still one of the better-built tablets and also shows off the ability to playback HD videos smoothly. It comes preloaded with a bunch of apps including, Calculator, Calendar, Task Manager, File Manager, Facebook, Gallery, Gmail, Music, Documents to go, Sound Recorder, Gtalk, YouTube, Money Control and RTI. Games, music and apps, all ran smoothly on the tablet. The UI is slightly skinned but there is nothing here to repel users. The tablet is slim and comfortable to hold to measuring in at 13mm thickness and weighing a mere 336 grams. The audio output too is quite loud.
