StuffCool Giga 65W: A 20000 mAh powerbank your gadgets deserve

Updated on 23-Dec-2024

Let’s be honest for a second: in a world where every gadget claims to be “game-changing,” powerbanks tend to be painfully unremarkable. But every once in a while, one comes along that actually catches my attention. Enter the StuffCool Giga 65W Powerbank – a compact 20,000mAh behemoth that defies its own size and weight. I spent the past few days using it to charge everything from smartphones to TWS earphones, even a 15-inch laptop. At the end of it all, I have to say that calling the StuffCool Giga 65W just another powerbank feels a bit like calling a Ferrari “just another car.”

The Giga is not only petite at 6.8 x 10.8 x 3.25 cm but also surprisingly light, weighing just about 380 grams. Unlike most powerbanks you’ve used, the StuffCool Giga easily slides into a bag or purse without making you feel like you’re carrying a brick. Apart from a prominent charging display indicator, the StuffCool Giga’s built-in USB-C cable is thoughtfully designed – it’s small enough to not make you carry a long wire while charging your phone, but just big enough so that it forms a loop around your wrist. The real winner here is the built-in Type-C cable with up to 65W PD output. If you’re the sort who always forgets to pack cables (like yours truly), this powerbank is a lifesaver. I tested the cable on a whole host of devices, and it delivered a fast, no-fuss charge that reminded me of a standard wall adapter. And if you own a Samsung Galaxy phone, the Giga’s 45W Super-Fast Charging 2.0 support might make you weep with joy.

While putting the StuffCool Giga through its paces, I started off small – charging my AirPods Pro 2 case and in-ear pods. Both were under 10%, and fully topping them up took a mere 6% of the Giga’s capacity, and just under 15 minutes. It barely broke a sweat, I must admit. Encouraged, I moved on to the iPhone 15 Pro. One test saw me go from 22% to 71% in just over half an hour, eventually hitting 100% just under the 2-hour mark of overall charging time, but that includes the typical iPhone “trickle charge” past 80%. Another session of recharging the iPhone 15 Pro took me from 4% to 100% in about an hour and 45 minutes, which is quite decent – especially when you consider the phone’s battery was almost drained.

Now, the real test: my 15-inch Infinix laptop charged over the USB Type-C port. I started at 47% around 8:00 pm with the Giga at full charge. Within a half hour, I jumped to 62% of laptop battery. By 9:23 pm, the laptop was cruising at 92%, and the Giga still had 24% left. Hitting 100% on the laptop left about 7% in the tank – enough to top up a phone by at least 35-40% if I was in a pinch.

A power bank is only as good as its recharge time. Using StuffCool’s own 18W charger, it took me around two and a half hours to climb from 7% to 70% of charge on the StuffCool Giga. With a 67W charger (from Xiaomi), though, the Giga soared from nearly empty (1% charge) to 100% full in about 90 minutes. That’s a game-changer if you’re constantly on the go and can’t waste hours waiting for your powerbank to revive.

The Giga offers a Type-C port that can push 65W, plus a USB-A port at 18W for your older gadgets or devices that don’t require super-fast charging. I also gave the Giga a whirl on two Android phones at the same time, and needless to say both charged seamlessly, no adapters or fuss required. That’s the kind of versatility that’s expected from a thoughtfully designed powerbank. Whether it was charging other devices or itself, at no point did the StuffCool Giga overheat or felt hot on the touch.

Other small but noteworthy details about the StuffCool Giga 65W is that it’s made in India and BIS certified, which should soothe the nerve of anyone concerned about reliability, safety or compliance. The inclusion of a built-in cable means fewer tangles in your bag, and the LED indicators are bright enough without being obnoxious. Sure, it’s priced a bit higher than basic 20,000mAh banks, but with 65W output, advanced charging protocols, and a robust build, the StuffCool Giga’s squarely aimed at power users – or at least people like me who juggle multiple devices daily.

It’s not often that a power bank makes me feel like I’m seeing a real evolution in accessory design. But the StuffCool Giga 65W Powerbank pulled it off. Over the course of a few days, I practically forgot it was “just a power bank.” It started feeling more like an essential sidekick that kept me juiced up, no matter what device I threw at it. Enough said. Now if only it could make me a cup of coffee while it charges my phone, we’d have the perfect invention.

If you’re still carrying around a giant, slow-charging battery brick in your backpack, the Giga is worth a look. Students with multiple gadgets, business travelers who hate lugging multiple chargers, or even just the average Joe who wants the freedom to charge a laptop without an outlet – this one ticks all those boxes. It might not be the cheapest option at ₹4,299, but you’re getting serious performance and versatility for that price tag – which in my opinion is worth it.
