SDCC 2017 is just a few hours away from officially kicking off and we can’t wait for the madness to begin! The biggest film studios, superheroes, celebrities, fans and some crazy cos play will all culminate in one massive event that will give us a (nerdgasm) pretty good idea about some of Hollywood’s biggest bets in 2017. Of course, we are eagerly waiting to feast our eyes on a barrage of new trailers and reveals including DCEU’s Justice League, CBS’ much awaited Star Trek Discovery, Avengers: Infinity Wars, the world premiere of Marvel’s Spider-Man animated series and more!

But before we start, watch this Lego Ninjago SDCC 2017 tease!

Okay now, without further ado, here’s what you can expect from SDCC 2017

Warner Bros & DC at SDCC 2017

DC and Warner Bros together will have some of the biggest announcements to make at SDCC 2017. Warner Bros will make its power-packed announcements at the renowned Hall H of the San Diego convention center for a whole 2 hours! Expect to see new trailers from their 2017 movie slate including, Justice League (Yes, the one where Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman come together) and the standalone Aquaman movie. Apart from these, we expect to hear more on the Wonder Woman sequel and Suicide Squad 2.

From the television arm of Warner Bros, you can expect a new trailer for Krypton, the untold story of Superman’s home planet. This TV prequel to Man of Steel is expected to premiere in 2018 on the SyFy network.

Rumour mill has it that Black Lightning is also headed to Comic Con this year. Production for the new superhero series is already underway. The first African-American DC superhero with a dedicated comic title will come to life in this new DCTV show and we may see a new trailer for this Cress Williams (Prison Break) starrer.

Apart from its DC offerings, Warner Bros may also give us a first look at Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, Ocean’s Eight, Blade Runner 2049, IT, and the movie reboot of Tomb Raider.

Marvel

Marvel made fans scream with joy after it revealed exclusive footage of Avengers: Infinity Wars at the D23 Disney expo last week, and we expect SDCC will witness the same. A new trailer for the movie is also expected to be revealed at the Comic Con. Since Thor Ragnarok releases this October, expect Marvel to give some love to it at the event.

For its 2017 TV offerings, Marvel has already put up a huge statue of the teleporting dog, LockJaw from its upcoming Inhumans series at SDCC 2017. And, going by the giant Inhumans hoarding outside the event, you can expect to see a new trailer for the show as well.

Let’s not forget that the Marvel-Disney XD Spider-Man animated series will also premiere at SDCC 2017. Here’s a teaser to whet your appetite:

Star Trek Discovery

CBS has a panel scheduled for the exciting TV return of the Star Trek series. Star Trek Discovery is set for a fall 2017 release. The 3D Systems Gentle Giant Studios booth at SDCC 2017 is showing off a figurine of a Klingon character named ‘The Torchbearer’, which expected to feature in Star Trek Discovery’s pilot episode. Of course, a new trailer is also on the cards.

Netflix

Stranger Things 2 will definitely make an appearance at SDCC 2017. Netflix recently unveiled a new poster, teaser for the show, and a sinister new entity is expected to make an appearance at Hawkins this time around. Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Japanese manga, Death Note, will be screened for the first time at SDCC 2017.

The Westworld experience

Did you watch Westworld this year? If not, get on it right now! SDCC will throw the floor open for fans to experience Westworld first hand. Comic Con attendees will get to choose different outfits and weapons, just like characters in the show (OMG! We are so jealous)! LA Times got a sneak preview of the experience and this is what it looks like:

Expect to see a complete season 2 trailer for the show as well, along with details on the premiere date for the return of the wild wild west.

And that’s all folks! We will keep you updated on all the crazy from SDCC 2017. Stay tuned to Digit.in and get ready to get ‘Con’ned.

PS: Speaking of Cons, Conan O’brien is also headed to SDCC 2017 in his World War 1 plane. Unfortunately it has crash landed in the Amazons. ‘Wonder’, who he will meet…
