If you are interested in the open source movement, and want meet like-minded people to share ideas with, be sure to sign up for OSScamp in Chandigarh this month.
As one can imagine, a country like India has perhaps the most to benefit from adopting open source. Going by the philosophy of open source, the OSScamps themselves are community-driven unconferences, with the noble aim of promoting FOSS in India. As they describe themselves: “We are a community of over 1500 geeks and geeks-to-be, pan-India, who come together every few months in a camp to share their experiences, best practices, and wisdom on FOSS all across the nation.”
The topics in conversation will cover a wide range of topics from Firefox Hacks, Photoshop vs Gimp to MySQL and GWT.
