Nikon announced the D7100 in Mumbai last Saturday. Considering it was primarily a bloggers meet with the D7100 announcement happening towards the end, there was only one unit of the D7100 which was specially brought in from Japan. Speaking about the D7100, Nikon representatives insisted that this was not an upgrade to the D7000 but was an addition to the high end enthusiast DX format cameras. The D7000, they assured would still be selling in the market.
We will do a complete in-depth review of the Nikon D7100, when we get the unit in our test labs. We had a really brief hands on time with the device since there was just one unit. It felt solid in the hands and did not really feel heavy. The 51 AF points cover quite a large field of view area with the 15 cross-type focus points located in the centre region. The lock on the mode dial was thoughtful addition to the D7100 alongwith the wider LCD screen.
Since we had very limited time with the device, we thought it was best for the Nikon technical person to show us some of the new features present on the D7100. Do check out the complete video below till we get our hands on the review unit to put the D7100 through its paces.
