We have a new trailer for Game of Thrones Season 7 and from the looks of it, this season is going to be all about epic battles; The Lannister will battle Daenerys and her fully grown fire breathing dragons, Jon Snow will battle the White Walkers and Wildlings, Bran will warge his way into the war, and Sansa will fight with…Errr…her mind?
Let’s break down the trailer further. The trailer opens with Sansa Stark walking through the Winterfell woods. Bran and Meera are in front of the Castle Black gate, will they finally cross over? Daenerys and her posse seems to be making their entry into a grey and gloomy Dragonstone Island (although it’s not clear who exactly these people are), the former Targaryen kingdom which was last occupied by Stannis Baratheon. You can even see queen Khaleesi tear down the Baratheon flag in one scene.
At this time, you can hear Jon Snow saying, “For centuries our families fought together, against their common enemy. Despite their differences, together. We need to do the same if we’re gonna survive.” Will we finally see a Daenerys-Jon alliance this season?
We also see a swarm of angry ravens and a shot of the Night King looking up at them, immediately followed by a shot of Bran warging away in a wheelchair. Looks like Bran is guiding the ravens towards the White Walker army. But hey! When did he trade his make-shift sledge for that wheelchair? At Castle Black perhaps?
Somewhere in there you can see Brienne and Podrick, the Grey Worm, Tyrian and other GoT characters.
A surprising re-entry this season is that of Beric Dondarrion, the leader of the Brotherhood Without Banners. He’s wielding a sword of fire. There’s speculation that the sword is the Lightbringer, the sword of Stannis Baratheon. However, it could just be any other sword since in the books, Ramsay takes the Lightbringer as a trophy when he finds Stannis’ body.
This is followed by a shot of the unsullied entering a gate, a war-raged Jaime Lannister riding on a battlefield, Daenerys atop Drogon, a rain of hellfire, Jon Snow facing a Wildling attack, and finally a closeup of Drogon’s big-toothed mouth (Which you can see on the cover image)!
We can’t wait for this explosive GoT season to begin. July 16 is the date peeps. Winter and War are here!
