From a simple RC toy to huge assembly line machines, robots have indeed made our lives easier and a lot more fun. But, depending upon bots is one thing and having the skill to create one is another. Diwekar Vaish – Founder of A-Set has successfully created robots that can read mind and work accordingly, taking India’s Robotic Society to a whole new level. Techniche – The Annual Techno Management Festival of IIT Guwahati realises how crucial it is to develop a robotic culture among the youth of our nation, and hence unravels the fifth edition of its National Robotic Championship ESCALADE 5.0.
After four successful years of Robotic awesomeness, organized by the students of IIT Guwahati, ESCALADE is eagerly waiting to witness budding robot enthusiasts to showcase their skills on a national platform. This is an open invite to all such Robotic Junkies around the nation to ‘Gear Up For Glory’ as the greatest and grandest of all Robotics Events is all set to witness the techies of India compete and triumph over one another till the Ultimate Glory is achieved.
The competition is divided in two levels – prelims and mains. The Stage is set, ESCALADE 5.0 prelims will be organized in 12 centre Delhi,Jaipur,Hyderabad,Bhubaneshwar,Vizag,Pune,Kolkate,Nagpur,Chennai,Bangaloe,lucknow,Guwahati all around the nation on the 10 th of July 2016.
For the preliminary round, participants have to design a bot that can escalade up the arena vertically and place blocks in their respective positions. Quite simple, well yes it is. Design a bot that can traverse vertically up the arena using side supports, each bot is given 3 attempts and each attempt spans for 5 minutes. Bot that finishes first wins. This is a team event and each team should have up to four members, top six teams for each centre get an invite to visit IIT Guwahati during its four days of technical extravaganza, Techniche.
Mains will be conducted then and there with a slightly tricky problem statement. And not just that, winners will take home a handsome prize money of Rs. 80,000/-.
