First JUDCon in APAC to be held in Bangalore

Red Hat, Inc. the world’s leading open source solutions provider, today announced that the JBoss User and Developers’ Conference (JUDCon) will be held for the first time in the APAC region, at the NIMHANS Convention Center in Bengaluru, India on January 24-25, 2012.

We’re very excited to host next year’s JUDCon in Bangalore, bringing one of the industry’s foremost open source developer conferences to the Asia Pacific region,” said Mark Little, senior director of middleware engineering, Red Hat. “The development community in this area is expanding at an amazing rate and we’re looking forward to giving that community a unique, hands-on opportunity to really dig into what’s going on with JBoss and open source middleware.”

According to Evans Data Corporation’s report on Global Developer Population and Demographic Survey, released in September, the number of software developers worldwide is expected to grow from 16 million today to over 20 million in 2015, with the hottest areas for growth projected to be in India, China and Russia. By 2015 India is expected to surpass the U.S. with more than 3.5 million professional software developers.

The fifth JUDCon to date, JUDCon 2012: Bangalore will be a two-day, three-track event packed with valuable sessions, and an evening of exciting events that will run late into the night. Presentations at JUDCon include a range of deep dives into JBoss technologies and related topics of user and developer interest.

The Call for Presentations is now open, and will extend until November 26, 2011. The agenda will be posted December 2, 2011.

JUDCon 2012 will cover several key JBoss technologies including: Java EE, Rules, Business Process Management (BPM), Data Grids, SOA, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Cloud, mobile and many others.
