Gaming has evolved from a past time to a global obsession with millions of people logging in each day to indulge in hours of gaming. In their quest to become the next, some gamers have then their obsession to the next level by ensuring they have the latest hardware. In fact, high performance hardware is usually the difference between a good gamer, and a great one. Not to mention the fact that if you are good enough, you could get a chance to represent a team and compete in tournaments.

Gaming monitors are definitely a key component in any gamer’s arsenal. However, not any monitor can qualify as a gaming monitor. In order to be one, such monitors need to offer features such as faster refresh rate and response time, which should ideally be 144Hz and 1MS respectively. LG already has experience in gaming monitors and its 24MP59G and 24GM79G monitors should cater to the demand of most gaming enthusiasts. These monitors come with features such as Motion Blur Reduction (MBR), Dynamic Action Sync (DAS) Mode and Black Stabilizer which are aimed at augmenting a gamer’s skills.

However, an ultra wide monitor like the LG 29UM69G and LG 34UC79G can also help add a new dimension to gameplay. Instead of having a traditional aspect ratio of 16:9, these monitors have an aspect ratio of 21:9. Since there is more of the screen to view, you get a more immersive gaming experience since your game will now cover more of your view. This immersion factor can be cranked up a notch with a curved monitor like the LG 34UC79G. The monitors also have higher resolution. While standard 16:9 monitors offer a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 21:9 monitors a resolution of 2560 x 1080 pixels.

Another factor that helps with immersion is the fact that HUD elements such as ammo counters and maps can be pushed into the outer edges of the display. So they will be out of your immediate field of view. An ultra wide monitor can also helps gamers see more of the game, which is quite helpful in spotting enemies which may be just outside the view of conventional 16:9 monitors.

Besides all these features, LG’s 34UC79G and 29UM69G ultra wide gaming monitors also offer a few additional features to gamers. Let’s take a close look at these two monitors.

The response time is the time it takes for an input to be shown on the monitor. The LG 34UC79G ultra wide monitor offers a response time of 1ms thanks to a feature called 1ms Motion Blur Reduction.
