1.Zync Quad 8.0
The Zync Quad 8.0 has an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The tablet has a 5400mAh battery and weighs 471 grams. The tablet doesn’t support Bluetooth or have a SIM card slot, but offers expandable storage via a microSD card slot, and also supports Wi-Fi.
The Quad 8.0 has a 5MP rear facing camera and a 2MP front facing camera. Under the hood, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage are present on the device. It also has the Mali-400 GPU. The Zync Quad 8.0 is priced at Rs. 12,990.
2.Zync Quad 9.7
The Zync Quad 9.7 has a 9.7-inch display with a 2048×1536 pixels resolution. We will put the display through its paces to see how it performs with such a high resolution when we get our hands on the device. The tablet has an 8000mAh battery and weighs 603 grams. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The Zync Quad 9.7 doesn’t support Bluetooth or feature a SIM card slot, but does have expandable storage via a microSD card slot, as well as Wi-Fi support. It has a 5MP rear facing camera and a 2MP front facing camera. Under the hood, a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, Mali-400 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage are present on the tablet. The Zync Quad 9.7 is priced at Rs. 13,990.
3.Zync Quad 10.1
Launched today, the Zync Quad 10.1 is priced at Rs. 14,990. The device runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean straight out of the box and shows off a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. One of the best features of the display is 10.1-inches and has a full HD 1920×1080 pixel resolution.
The Zync Quad 10.1 It also supports HDMI out which means that you can connect it to your HD TV to consume multimedia content. The final performance of the tablet is something we will comment on once we have our hands on the device but on paper, the device seems very impressive.
4.iberry Auxus CoreX4 3G
The interesting feature about the iberry Auxus CoreX4 3G tablet is that it is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 4412 ARM quad-core 1.6GHz processor. This is the same that is powering the Samsung Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Note II. It is priced at Rs. 15,990.
Overall the CoreX4 3G is a smooth performer but it does have its shortcomings. The 3G calling capabilities aren’t the best and the audio from the loudspeaker is underwhelming, but the tablet is smooth to use, all the apps run well and if multitasking is the name of the game, then this device performs well.
5.Nexus 7
If you want a tablet that will receive the latest Android update on day one, and deliver the most vanilla Android experience possible, then the Nexus 7 is the tablet for you. Sure, at Rs. 15,999 you get the 16GB Wi-Fi only version and if you want the 3G capable Nexus 7, you will gave to increase your budget all the way till 21,999 (for the 32GB 3G Wi-Fi version).
Boasting of a Tegra 3 processor, the Nexus 7 can easily handle heavy games and apps including the likes of Shadow Gun. The best thing about the Nexus 7 is the touchscreen. It is smooth as butter and navigating the device sees the minimalistic lag, close to zero. The display of the tablet may be a tad dim for some but it is very comfortable for prolonged use.
6.Samsung Galaxy Note 510
The Note 510 isn’t available on store shelves yet, but the device is available for pre-order on Samsung’s online store for Rs. 30,990. At the launch event we had some hands on time with the device. The Note 510 features an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels giving it a pixel density of 189ppi. It has a quad-core 1.6GHz processor along with 2GB of RAM. There will be two versions of the Note 510 in the market – one with 16GB built-in storage and one with 32GB storage.
Both versions will also have a memory card slot for storage space expansion. Samsung has packed in a 4600mAh battery, and the weight of the tablet is 338 grams. The device will run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The tablet will also support Samsung’s S-Pen functionality bringing it up to speed with the Note II and the Note 800. For the price point and features on offer, the tablet is an ideal competitor to the iPad mini. If it’s a quad-core powered Samsung Tablet you desire with an 8-inch display, then the Note 510 is the device for you.
7.Samsung Galaxy Note 800
The Samsung Galaxy Note was an incredible device creating the phablets category. Its best innovating feature was the S-Pen which was essentially a stylus but with a lot of added functionality. The best thing about the Note 800 is that it brings all the awesome functionality of the S-Pen to a 10.1-inch display. Put simply, the Note 800 is the best Android tablet we have seen till date even surpassing the Asus Transformer Prime in its raw performance. The tablet has everything going for it – fantastic power under the hood, a great display and good battery life. The only thing it has against it is an underwhelming build that can be overlooked considering the overall package.
The Note 800 also brings with it a slew of Samsung features such as the TouchWiz UI, Multi Window operations which gives us a glimpse at true multitasking and a good battery life. If a 10-inch powerhouse is what you desire, then for a price of Rs. 34,500 the Note 800 is the device for you. The Note 800 runs on the Exynos 4412 quad-core CPU clocked at 1.4 GHz.
8.Asus Transformer Pad TF 300TG
If the shenanigans of Samsung are something you wish to avoid, then the Asus Transformer Pad TF 300TG is something you should look at. The display is the same as the Note 800 but the UI is different. Asus has its own ASUS Waveshare UI, which isn’t as flashy as TouchWiz, but it isn’t bad by any means. Under the hood the Nvidia Tegra 3 processor powers it.
If you are someone who needs to type a lot on the go then this is a preferred device for you as it comes with a keyboard docking station in the box. The keyboard isn’t as convenient as a laptop but it gets the job done in the same way that a netbook would. The rear houses an 8MP camera, which is one of the better ones available on a tablet. The tablet is also upgradable up to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. If a netbook replacing tablet is your need with some impressive power under the hood, then for Rs. 42,265, the Asus Transformer Pad TF 300TG is the device for you.
