Mantour X

Funding: US$ 105,524 pledged of US$ 10,074 goal
Link: https://dgit.in/MantourX

Mantour X is a self-balancing E-scooter which you can easily lug around owing to its foldable nature. The E-scooter is extremely lightweight as well, weighing in at a mere 7kgs. This is largely due to its predominantly carbon fibre body. The E-scooter is self-balancing even when it is folded, which means the user can simply walk it beside them and the scooter will balance itself on its front wheel. This feature is termed the ‘Follow Mode’. The self-balancing algorithm built into the Mantour X enables the scooter to stay upright and move forward seamlessly with minimal effort on the user’s part. This makes it quite portable even when you don’t want to be zooming around on the scooter. The scooter comes equipped with a simple button to enable either Sport Mode or Follow Mode as well as an LED display which relays what mode you’re currently in. The display also dispels other important information such as speed and battery level.

Additionally, the E-scooter has simple controls. In order to accelerate, the user will have to slide the throttle switch on the left handle of the scooter. Two mechanisms are available for braking – there’s an electric brake for low speed braking and a physical one for higher speeds. If you’re riding in the dark, the Mantour X packs an LED headlight as well. This scooter, with a built-in 240W motor, sports a decent range of about 20 kms on a single charge. It gets fully charged in about 4 hours. It can hold a maximum weight of 99kgs and can achieve a maximum speed of about 20 km/h. The scooter is rated IP54 and can shrug off light rain easily.

Luminook

Funding: US$ 58,074 pledged of US$ 20,000 goal
Link: https://dgit.in/Luminook

nveiled at CES 2020, Luminook is a smart light that provides the best possible lighting coverage to enclosed spaces such as closets and pantries. While it may seem like just another LED light strip on the surface, the Luminook actually provides these enclosed spaces “floor-to-ceiling, shadow-free illumination”, as per their Kickstarter page. Essentially, it is an LED light strip which wraps around the entire inner door frame of closets, storages or pantries and provides motion-triggered illumination to the room via the sensors within the LED strip. What’s better? It requires absolutely zero tools to install in place. The strip is compatible with most door sizes ranging up to 72-inches wides, as per the company.

The company claims that their LED strip provides much better illumination than traditional single source lights since they do away with unsightly shadows and inadequate light coverage. The lights also come with adjustable colour temperatures, ranging from warm yellow to white, as well as adjustable brightness. This is done via the accompanying smartphone app. If you’d rather not mess with these variables, Luminook is capable of self-adjusting as per the time, position of the sun or ambient light conditions. Plus, you get to ditch all those unappealing cords since the strip is powered by a removable Li-ion battery which can be charged via USB. The battery life is estimated to be well over a month with moderate use, according to the company. In case you do not want the light to turn on every time you open the door, there’s also a ‘Do Not Disturb Mode’ where you open the door slightly and then subsequently close and reopen it.

Walsun

Funding: US$ 11,050 pledged of US$ 7,980 goal
Link: https://dgit.in/Walsun

Worried about bike theft? Tired of lugging around hefty chains? Try out Walsun. It’s a tiny fingerprint disk lock which weighs a mere 220gms. The lock attaches to the disc brake for bicycles and motorcycles and can be easily unlocked with your fingerprint. The company claims that Walsun’s 6mm lock pin fits most motorcycles and bikes which have disc brakes that are less than 6mm thick. Reportedly, Walsun is high-tech enough to know the difference between actual, live fingerprints and fake silicone or gelatin ones as well. The nifty little biometric lock can also recognise up to 40 sets of fingerprints, so you don’t have to worry if you need, say your brother or friend to pick up the bike for you. Walsun is also rated IP65 water-resistant and has a stand-by time of over 3 months! And when the battery does drain out? You can charge it using the provided USB Type-C charging cable. The company has even added a ‘sleep button’ which is purposed to extend the battery life even more. By pressing the button on the left side of the lock, Walsun enters ‘Sleep mode’ and conserves battery this way. To unlock your bike, you will now need to click the button again to wake it up and then enter your fingerprint onto the pad. Additionally, if you prefer the security of the cable lock, they also have a steel cable version of Walsun available for purchase.
