DigiLocker Uses: What Is It, How To Sign Up For It, And What Are Its Features?
DigiLocker is an online storage service for digital copies of documents, certificates, and credentials.
You can also sign into other websites using DigiLocker.
Besides getting into DigiLocker uses, we will also have a deeper understanding of what is DigiLocker and how to register online for it.
DigiLocker is an online platform that lets you safely store your important certificates, credentials, and other documents. Your data on its vault is protected by internationally recognized open standards oAuth2.0 & OpenIDConnect. So, ideally, DigiLocker security shouldn’t be a concern, but that isn’t always the case (which we shall get into in a bit). Still, you should give it a try for the various DigiLocker uses and you can also sign into it pretty easily.
So, let’s get on with knowing the DigiLocker service.
What is DigiLocker?
DigiLocker is a Digital India initiative by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India aimed at “paperless governance”. The digital storage platform allows the issuance and verification of digital copies of documents and certificates so that you don’t have to carry around physical documents. This way your documents won’t lose or damage in transit.
DigiLocker app is available on Android and iOS. You can access it via the web at https://digitallocker.gov.in/.
How To Register Into DigiLocker?
DigiLocker sign-in process is rather straightforward. You just need an Aadhaar card and an Aadhaar-linked phone number to which an OTP will be sent. You will have to verify using this one-time password.
