Featuring Warm Bodies, Wall-E, Zombieland: Double Tap and more

We’re all hunkered down and waiting for the Coronavirus to blow over. As the world goes into a full lockdown, a lot of people are basically bored at home now. Well, ones that don’t have to work from home, that is. For the rest of us, it can be a little mentally challenging to go about the same routine day after day. Which is why we at Digit have decided to compile a list of films that you can check out every day of the week. We’ll start today off with something a little lighter and not too heavy so check out some of the coolest feel-good post-apocalyptic films out there.

Wall-E

You know we’re heading down this path soon enough. The end in Wall-E comes not from disease or catastrophe, it comes from our inability to stop consuming and turning the entire Earth into a garbage dump. Wall-E follows the tale of a plucky garbage disposal drone who falls in love with a high-tech robot sent to Earth by humans to look for life on Earth. Watch this film more for the philosophical dread and stay for the heart-warming love story.

Shaun of the Dead

If we could, we’d all just go the Winchester, enjoy a pint and wait for the whole thing to blow over. Edgar Wright’s hilarious take on zombie apocalypse is one of the funniest and most heart-warming horror/comedies out there. We can all relate to this film, right about now, so do yourselves a favour and check out Shaun of the Dead.

Warm Bodies

A slightly different take on the zombie apocalypse, Warm Bodies sees Nicholas Hoult play the role of a zombie who is slowly regaining his humanity after falling in love with a human survivor. A unique little film, Warm Bodies takes the perspective of the zombie and what a sneakily funny zombie society would look like.

Go Goa Gone

Let’s head on down to Bollywood for some much-needed dose of post-apocalyptic laughter. Go Goa Gone is one of the better films to have come out from the Indian film industry and its light-hearted plot and witty banter make it one of the better feel-good films out there. Also, Saif Ali Khan chews up the scenery every chance he gets and we love it!

Zombieland: Double Tap

If you want to survive the zombie apocalypse, who better than Woody Harrelson in his badass Tennessee avatar? The first film left us with sequel bait and Double Tap delivers on all fronts. It’s got laughs, outrageous action and a feel-good story that ties it all together.
