13 Movie, TV and game trailers to watch this Friday the 13th weekend
Friday the 13th weekend deserves 13 trailers for your entertainment
It’s that time of the week when we showcase the best trailers for you to watch, in case you missed them. This time is superhero galore mixed with the return of some Kaiju killing robots, a few Stranger Things and what Wonder Woman would be if someone called her Amazon Prime. So, let’s begin.
The New Mutants
Wolverine, Professor X and all the X-Men may be dead, but that doesn’t mean that a new movie about Mutants isn’t in the works. Behold, The New Mutants. The plot of this 2018 movie follows the story of five young mutants discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will. A creepy version of Brick in the Wall is the background score for this trailer and it accentuates the theme of the movie extremely well.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Set to release on December 15 2017, The Last Jedi trailer 2 is as ambiguous as its predecessor. The trailer does show what seems to be key highlights to the plot but unlike most trailers these days doesn’t give away the plot. It’s obvious, Luke is afraid of Reys abilities, Kylo Ren is faced with some hard choices, and we will see an epic battle between Brienne of Tarth vs Finn.
Justice League final trailer
We finally get to see Clark Kent in this Justice League trailer without his moustache. Information circulating the internet says that during the reshoot of Justice League, Henry Cavill who dons the role of the Son of Krypton wasn’t allowed to shave off his moustache as he was contractually obligated to keep it for his role in the upcoming Mission Impossible movie. Nonetheless, this trailer is a quite light hearted when compared to what we saw during the Snyder rule.
Pacific Rim: Uprising
The battle between Jaeger vs Kaiju is back. The first film was directed by the legendary Guillermo del Toro and we absolutely loved the movie. The upcoming film in the franchise is being directed by Steven S. DeKnight. He doesn’t have any silver screen blockbusters under his belt but he did direct one episode of Netflix’s Dare Devil Season 1, so there is a ray of hope.
Replicas
According to Wikipedia, “A replica is an exact reproduction, such as of a painting, as it was executed by the original artist or a copy or reproduction, especially one on a scale smaller than the original. A replica is a copying closely resembling the original concerning its shape and appearance”. Coming to the movie starring Keanu Reeves, his family dies, he clones them and everything doesn’t go as planned. The trailer may be cheesy, but if it is staring John Wick, sign me up for a ticket.
Cuphead: Launch trailer
About seven years in the making, Cuphead is a 2D side scrolling platforming game that has the ability to make you cry, literally. The game is gorgeous and brutally difficult. If you own an Xbox One, then this game deserves to be a part of your library.
Middle Earth: Shadow of War Launch Trailer
A successor to the 2014 game Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War brings back the “Nemesis” system. It’s a gameplay mechanic that made the first game great and it is the core of the second game too.
Stranger Things: Season 2 Friday the 13th trailer
What good is Friday the 13th without a Friday the 13th specific trailer and for that we have Stranger Things season 2 Friday the 13th trailer. The trailer doesn’t reveal much but if you are a fan of the show, you will know where to look.
Marshall
The movie Marshall is about a young Thurgood Marshall, the first African-American Supreme Court Justice, as he battles through one of his career-defining cases. It’s a serious movie, so we will let you decide if it’s worth your time. Check out the clip below.
Molly's Game Trailer
Molly’s game is the true story of Molly Bloom, a beautiful, young, Olympic-class skier who ran the world's most exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents. Her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business titans and finally, unbeknown to her, the Russian mob.
Wonder Wheel Trailer
Four peoples' lives intertwine amid the hustle and bustle of the Coney Island amusement park in the 1950s: Ginny, an emotionally volatile former actress now working as a waitress in a clam house; Humpty, Ginny's rough-hewn carousel operator husband; Mickey, a handsome young lifeguard who dreams of becoming a playwright; and Carolina, Humpty's long-estranged daughter, who is now hiding out from gangsters at her father's apartment.
MINDHUNTER
From the Director of Fight Club, Seven and Gone Girl, Mindhunter is crime drama based on John E. Douglas’ book called ‘Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit’. The series tells the story of two FBI agents, Holden Ford and Bill Tench (played by Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany) who interview serial killers in a controlled environment. Douglas himself was an FBI agent who spent his life studying criminal psychology and interviewing serial killers like David Berkowitz, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Charles Manson and more. The show seems to draw from the writer’s eerie conversations with these murderers. This, coupled with David Fincher’s directorial brilliance, has the potential to make Mindhunter your next big streaming obsession.
Wonder Woman Honest Trailer
We don’t usually put honest trailers but we are making an exception this time. The Honest Trailer for Wonder Women is hilarious and deserves to be the 13th trailer we showcase this Friday the 13th weekend.
