Simple tips and tricks to acing Call of Duty: Mobile’s zombie mode
These tips should ensure that you don’t turn into zombie fodder
Call of Duty: Mobile’s zombie mode has finally hit. The mode has been a staple for the PC and console versions of the game since it’s inclusion in Call of Duty: World at War back in 2008. The map we get in Call of Duty: Mobile’s zombie mode harks back to that era. Called Shi No Numa (Japanese for ‘Swamp of Death’), it was a downloadable map for World at War.
If you aren’t familiar with Zombie Mode in Call of Duty: Mobile, it goes something like this. You and three other players team up to fight waves of the undead. Depending on the game mode selected, this could either be 9 waves or 12, followed by a boss battle. If you are playing Survival, then you fight waves of zombies till you eventually die.
If the zombies tend to get the better of you, these simple tips should help you stay alive just long enough to get by.
Buy perks, buffs, tokens and ammo
It may seem obvious, but you’ll be surprised how many players simply forget to get perks, buffs and tokens in the heat of battle. Also, keep an eye on the amount of ammo you have left. You don’t want to be left with an empty gun when a horde of zombies are descending on your position. So use that downtime between waves to stock up.
Volley fire
If you are playing with a friend that you have very good communication with, you can try a system similar to volley firing used by armies of old. Simply put, when you are facing a huge horde of zombies, both of you take turns unloading a clip at them while backing away. While one of you is reloading, you also guide the other player towards open areas so that you aren’t pinned.
Open all areas
While the first couple of rounds can be completed within the first starting area. You would want to open up areas as soon as possible. This will give you more areas to move about and more importantly, give you places to escape if you feel overwhelmed with the sheer number of zombies.
Use tripmines and grenades wisely
Grenades may be expensive, but they can be a godsend when you are stuck in a tight spot. Similarly, Tripmines can be used to cover an area behind you and is very useful when fighting zombies either solo or in a smaller group. These are best used on groups, so don’t waste them on single zombies.
Use traps
Almost all areas of the map have some sort of trap that you can activate. These traps can clear out entire hordes of zombies and give you a much needed breather. Traps are best used when you have a single large horde of zombies following you. If you activate it when you are surrounded, then you will have nowhere to run. Also, make sure your friends are in the clear before you turn on a trap.
Know where to find the best guns
You should also learn the map to know where the best guns are hidden away. You start the game with pistol and only a couple of weapon options. In time, you should know where to find your favourite guns, so that you can make a beeline for them as soon as possible. Of course, there's also that secret area…
DON’T PANIC
It’s easy to find yourself overwhelmed by the sheer number of zombies. In your panic, you might end up wasting bullets as you might start spraying and praying. Remember, try to aim for the head, while backing away. Keep an eye on the map to know where the zombies are coming from and look for escape routes.
