HIGHLIGHTS

We begin the month of February by sharing our list of most anticipated games for the month on which you can drop your hard-earned cash. And February looks to be the month that will burn quite a big hole in your pocket!

It is that time of the month once again where we tell you what are the most anticipated games of the month and which are worth checking out. February is only the second month of the year and have a list of seven games that are really exciting us. Six of the games are sequels with one HD remaster for the old school gamer.

Hitman HD Trilogy
We start the list by respecting gamers who will pick up the HD remaster of the original Htiman Trilogy. Newcomers to the world of gaming who have some hands on time with Hitman: Absolution, know this – the original games were tough as hell and took a lot of patience and perseverance to get through the levels.

The trilogy will include Hitman: Contracts, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin and Hitman: Blood Money. Gamers will play through more than 40 intense missions across the three classic games. The best part, all the three games have been remastered in glorious HD.

The Hitman Trilogy will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in the first week of February for Rs. 1,499 approx.

Dead Space 3
The third installment in the survival horror game, Dead Space 3 pits players in the shoes of series protagonist, Isaac Clarke. What’s new this time around is that the game features a drop-in-drop-out co-op campaign. The fight this time around isn’t against the Necromorphs alone but against human rivals as well. This will add a nice mix to the fighting gameplay elements.

Another new addition to the series is the ability to construct your own weapons making you the master of your destructive toys!

Dead Space 3 is a third person survival horror action game and will launch for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in the first week of February 2013 for Rs. 2,999 and Rs. 1,499 respectively.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Sly Cooper and the gang are back for their first real HD adventure. Well, we aren’t counting the HD remaster that was launched a while back! This is their first outing on the PS3 and the game will be available for the Vita as well. Yes, it is a Sony exclusive.

As the title suggests, the game deals with the complex plot of time travel. Pages from the Thievius Raccoonus, the Cooper family’s ancient book of master thievery start to disappear, and it is up to Sly, Bentley and Murray to take a journey through time to solve the mystery.

We have really enjoyed playing the original trilogy and can’t wait to get our hands on this game. Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will be available for the PS3 and the PS Vita for Rs. 2,299 in the first week of February.

Aliens: Colonial Marines
In Aliens: Colonial Marines, gamers are a part of the United States Colonial Marine squad. Their task is to face off against the alien assault. Classic Aliens weaponry including the pulse rifles and the flamethrowers are added to player’s arsenal including new weapons.

Apart from the single player mode, the game also offers a four player co-op mode. The game will available in mid February for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC priced at Rs. 2,499 and Rs. 999 respectively.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Developed by Platinum Games and Kojima Productions, you once again don the role of Raiden, the protagonist from MGS2. Raiden now has a cyborg body and uses a high-frequency blade to slice everything in his way. Raiden is contracted for VIP protection, military training and other duties by PMSCs (Private Military and Security Companies) and as usual, things don’t go according to plan.

The game is a third person action adventure with elements of stealth thrown into the mix. We have had some hands on time with the demo of the game and it is a shift from the traditional MGS gameplay that we have come to love. That may not be a bad thing but we will reserve our judgment for the review of the game. Until then, enjoy a trailer of the game below. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance hits the PS3 and Xbox 360 in mid-February for Rs. 3,499. A PC release is expected at some point after that.

Crysis 3
The name of the title says it all! Crysis 3 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of 2013 and it will be amongst us in a matter of days. You one again don the role of Prophet and his nano suit. Prophet is on a revenge mission this time around. He has uncovered the truth behind Cell Corporation’s motives for building the quarantined Nanodomes.

The game takes place in a destroyed post-apocalyptic New York City and Prophet has some seriously awesome weapons under his belt this time around. To start with, there is the bow and a quiver full of arrows that can even put the Green Arrow to shame. Another weapon we can’t wait to get our hands on is the Typhoon. Put simply it has the ability to fire 500 rounds per second (30,000 rounds a minute) and the gun houses a 720 round magazine. Need we say more?

Crysis 3 will hit store shelves towards the end of February for the Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC for Rs. 2,999 and Rs. 1,499 respectively.

Rayman Legends
Not everyone may be able to get their hands on this game. Why? Well for starters it is a Wii U exclusive game and the console isn’t officially available in India.

Rayman Legends was one of the games demoed at E3 2012 and it showed off how the game made use of the touchscreen Wii U controller to enhance the gameplay especially where multiplayer is concerned. You can take control of Rayman, Globox and the Teensies and embark on an adventure in this side scrolling action adventure platformer. The game is available towards the end of February.
