Here are the games that you can play on Day 1 of the launch of the PS5

These include Demon's Souls, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Godfall and more

We have gone on length about how excited we all are for the launch of the next-gen consoles next month, but to be fair, Microsoft and Sony aren’t making it easy to not care about it. In fact, we’ve already talked about the games that you will be able to play on Day One of the launch of the Xbox Series X/S. You can read more about that here. Not to be outdone, Sony also released a detailed teardown of the PS5, driving up the hype to a fever pitch.

So, today we’ll take a look at what games you can actually play on the PS5 when it launches in India. Remember that the PS5 is backwards compatible with 99% of all PS4 games as well. So if you’ve got a huge library of older PS4 games, you’re in no danger of losing all that. But, as great as that is, we all want to know what games will be available to play on the launch day of the PS5. Well, let’s find out, shall we?

Demon’s Souls

Get ready to have your gamer cred crushed in 4K as Demon’s Souls makes its next-gen debut as a remake of the 2009 critically acclaimed title on the PS5. Developed by the genius that is Hidetaka Miyazaki, President of From Software, Demon’s Souls is not our run-of-the-mill action game. It’s brutally difficult and does not hold your hand at all. If you like games that are incredibly difficult but equally rewarding, this is a must-buy game for the PS5.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Basically an expansion to one of the best superhero games ever in Marvel’s Spider-Man, Miles Morales puts you in the shoes of Miles, one of the supporting characters from the first game who also turns out to have spider-like powers. Do note that the game will also be out on the PS4 but without the next-gen enhancements.

SackBoy: A Big Adventure

Remember Little Big Planet? Well, Sackboy’s now got his own game in Sackboy: A Big Adventure. Expect a fun, challenging and content filled platformer that looks to show off a ton of the other capabilities of the PS5 as well.

Godfall

Godfall was one of the first games announced for the PS5 even before Sony told us anything except that the next gen PlayStation existed. Since then, we’ve seen some cinematic trailers, gameplay and more. It is an action hack and slash game with an emphasis on loot, similar to Destiny. One of the controversies surrounding the game is that even to be played single player, you will need to be connected online. Let's hope the gameplay is as good as we’ve seen in the trailers.

BugSnax

From the developers of Octodad, Bugsnax looks a little weird, which is kind of cool in its own way. The story follows a reporter who finds himself on an island where the inhabitants are part insect and part snack. Yes, that is as bizarre as it sounds.

Astro’s Playroom

One thing confirmed is that Astro’s Playroom will come pre-loaded on all PS5 consoles, so even if you’re broke and have no money for games, you will at the very least, be able to play this one game. The game is touted as  a tech demo in the form of a game but still looks to be a fun and engaging experience. It aims to highlight all the new features the DualSense Controller boasts of.

Destruction AllStars

If you’re a fan of battle cars then you’ll like Destruction AllStars. Sure, it doesn’t have the depth and carnage of Twisted Metal but vehicular combat is not a genre that is very popular, and we hope that this game does bring the love for that kind of game back.

Below are the rest of the launch titles you’ll be able to play on launch day on the PS5.

The Pathless

Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Borderlands 3

Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War

The Pathless
