Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX, PRO 2 Lightspeed, and PRO X TKL RAPID – G PRO lineup gets stronger!?

Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX, PRO 2 Lightspeed, and PRO X TKL RAPID – G PRO lineup gets stronger!?

Logitech has been on its A-game when it comes to making gaming peripherals, with its ever-popular Superlight series of mice and G PRO series of headphones and keyboards. Their peripherals are trusted by professionals and casual players alike, with many in the SKOAR! Council also having these peripherals at the top of their recommendation lists. Now, the brand has expanded its lineup with the Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX Gaming Mouse, the PRO 2 LIGHTSPEED Gaming Mouse, and the PRO X TKL RAPID Gaming Keyboard. Their Indian announcement follows their global launch in September, but we will let it fly. Better late than never, right?

These peripherals address some of the most pressing concerns of gamers who were using the last generation of Logitech gaming accessories, especially from their PRO line, while also introducing some much-needed upgrades. However, Logitech is not alone in the race, and these peripherals are entering a price-sensitive market, which is India, with the baggage of legacy and stiff competition from their long-time rivals like Razer, Cooler Master, and Zowie, who have also upped their game in India, over the last few years. So, let’s have a look at what they have to offer in terms of their specs as we wait for them to show up at the Digit Test Labs for review.

Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX – Finally!

PC gaming and repetitive strain injuries go hand in hand. If you are a gamer, investing *cough* draining *cough* hours into a game, with a rather mid-gaming peripheral like a mouse or a keyboard, you are likely to develop an RSI. We have folks in the Council who can back me up on this. And, as we all know, Logitech’s offering in their PRO series, thus far, had an ambidextrous design, which meant that, the strain on the wrists of the gamers was on the higher side. They have addressed this with their Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX.

Logitech G Pro

This mouse comes with an asymmetrical, right-handed design, which, as per the brand, was developed after feedback from professional eSports athletes competing in Valorant and Counter-Strike. And, if you had closely observed any professional matches in the last couple of months, you would have seen Logitech-sponsored athletes switching to their DEX mouse. As for the specs, here’s a look at what the mouse brings to the table –

  • LIGHTSPEED Wireless Technology: Upgraded to support 8kHz polling.
  • HERO 2 Sensor: This sensor now offers unmatched tracking performance with speeds over 888 inches per second and acceleration over 88G.
  • LIGHTFORCE Switches: Combines optical sensing for instant actuation and reliability with a mechanical component for a satisfying click and low power consumption.
  • Sustainability: Manufactured with up to 55% post-consumer recycled ABS plastic, significantly reducing its carbon impact.

The mouse will be available in Pink, White, and Black colour variants in India at a price of ₹17,995 at the time of launch and will be available to be purchased on Amazon and other gaming retailers in the country. A steep price, but it would be worth it for the folks who are investing countless hours perfecting their game of choice.

In their media statement about the mouse, Logitech quoted one of their marquee athletes, NiKo (Nikola Kovač), who currently plays for G2 esports in Counter-Strike 2. He said, “The PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX feels like an extension of my hand, and that kind of comfort is crucial in high-stakes matches.” “DEX delivers on the quality, precision, and speed that I told Logitech I need to win,” NiKo added.

However, if you are fan of the ambidextrous design, carried by the outgoing Logitech G PRO X Superlight 2, then you would like the Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed.

Logitech G PRO 2 Lightspeed – For the lefties and purists

To ensure that they are not isolating their left-handed consumer base or those who prefer the ambidextrous design of the Logitech G PRO X Superlight 2, Logitech has announced the Logitech G Pro 2 Lightspeed. This one is a rather incremental upgrade over its predecessor, and is not much of a departure from the design and performance that their PRO mice have been known to deliver over the years.

As for the pricing, the mouse will be available on Amazon, and other major retailers at the price of ₹13,995.

Logitech G PRO X TKL RAPID – Magnetic anaglog switches for the win!

If you weren’t living under a rock over the last couple of months, you would know the controversy around Snap Tap and its variations launched by the makers of gaming keyboards across the board. Well, guess what!? Logitech is also on board the Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions (SOCD) train and has added it to their Logitech G PRO X TKL RAPID keyboard with their magnetic analogue switches.

Logitech G Pro

For the uninitiated, SOCD is a firmware-level feature added by manufacturers that allow the keyboard to easily prioritise and neglect key presses, ensuring that movements like jiggle peeking in games like CS2 are easier than ever.

While it may be a value add for some gamers, it has been rendered useless in one of the most popular titles, Counter-Strike 2, after a short-lived existence earlier this year. Always nice to have, but it might not be a selling point in isolation.

As for the other features and upgrades, Logitech has moved away from the traditional clicky Blue mechanical switches and has introduced their custom-made, magnetic analogue switches, which would definitely aid gamers who are looking for granular customisation on their keyboards. Add to it features like on-the-fly configuration and seamless and honestly well-implemented (based on previous personal experience) with G Hub, and this keyboard makes for a compelling option for the folks looking to make their keyboard truly their own.

The Logitech G PRO X TKL RAPID will be available at a price of ₹18,995 in December 2024. Again, the price is steep, but if you look at similar offerings from Wooting and Razer, it puts things into perspective and makes it a decent option, only for those, who will be able to make the best use of the new additions, or the enthusiasts who can’t wait to try Logitech’s take on magnetic analogue switches.

I am someone who has used Logitech’s peripherals both at work and home for playing the Counter-Strike franchise extensively, and if my previous experience is anything to go by, then this Logitech lineup has the potential to be the best you can get in India. On that note, do keep an eye out for the Digit Zero1 Awards, which will be announced soon. We will be testing gaming keyboards, mice, and other categories, to find out which products are the best in their respective weight class.
