IEM Chengdu 2024: Where to watch, participating teams, schedule, daily updates, and all you need to know
After an amazing start to the year with the PGL CS2 Major 2024 held in Copenhagen, the Counter-Strike circus is headed to China, for IEM Chengdu 2024. S-Tier Counter-Strike will be back in China after some time, and the fans of the eSport both in China and all over the world will be looking forward to seeing how the event pans out. IEM Chengdu 2024 will see participation from 16 teams, which include the likes of the Major finalists, FaZe, along with several other S-Tier orgs like G2, MOUZ, and Cloud9, all of whom are coming into this tournament, off the back of their amazing runs at the Major.
The 16 teams that are taking part in the tournament will be fighting to get their hands on the $250,000 prize pool of IEM Chengdu 2024.
So, as we go into IEM Chengdu 2024, here’s a look at all that you need to know about the tournament –
What teams are participating in IEM Chengdu 2024?
Liquid and Wildcard were called in before the tournament to replace M8 and Complexity, who backed out of the tournament.
There are three categories of teams who will take part in the tournament. The first ones are teams that are partners with the organisers of this tournament. These teams are labelled as a “Partner Team” and include –
- G2
- FaZe
- MOUZ
- HEROIC
- FURIA
- Astralis
The second lot of teams that are taking part in this tournament are the ones which made it through based on their rankings in ESL’s Ranking list. These teams include –
- Cloud9
- Virtus.Pro
- Monte
The third lot is made up of teams that played through regional closed qualifiers held in Oceania, Europe, South America, Asia, and China (as a separate region from Asia). The teams that are a part of this lot at IEM Chengdu 2024 are –
- Lynn Vision (China Closed Qualifier)
- FlyQuest (Oceania Closed Qualifier)
- Nemiga (Europe Closed Qualifier)
- 9z (South America Closed Qualifier)
- Tyloo (Asia Closed Qualifier)
These teams have been divided into two groups of eight teams. These groups are labelled Group A and Group B. The teams that are a part of Group A and Group B at IEM Chengdu 2024 are –
These teams will play matches in the group stage, and will have two chances each to try and make it into the playoffs of the tournament.
What is the schedule of the tournament?
The tournament will start on Monday, April 8, 2024. The tournament’s group stage matches will start from Day 1, with the playoffs set to begin on April 12, 2024.

In India, you can watch IEM Chengdu 2024 on CSTV, and the official broadcast channels of ESL on Twitch and YouTube.
