HIGHLIGHTS

It is that time of the month once again where we tell you which games are worth spending your hard earned cash on!

April may not be as exciting as March in terms of the games launched but it is still an interesting month. This month we have games from a variety of genre ranging from fighting, first person shooters and movie tie-in games, all catering to a wide audience. So, here’s a list of games you should check out in the month of April 2013.

Injustice: Gods Among Us

From the masterminds that brought us Mortal Kombat (NetherRealm Studios), we have another fighting game, christened Injustice: Gods Amongst Us. Instead of the mythical characters, here you can take on the role of characters from the DC Universe which includes the likes of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lanterns, Joker, Harley Quinn and many more.

From what we have seen of the game, the gameplay is very reminiscent of the recently launched Mortal Kombat game. The environments have destructible elements and each character has his/her own special abilities and moves. If you are one who loves fighting games such as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, this is one definitely for you.

Injustice: Gods Amongst Us has an international release date of April 16 and will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and the iPhone. The game is priced at Rs. 2,499 for the consoles.

Star Trek: The Game

Movie tie-in games aren’t the best and we recommend you wait for the reviews of the game before you pick this one up. Nonetheless the game seems interesting. It is a third person action game in the Star Trek universe. The game will support single as well as multiplayer where two gamers can control Spock and Kirk. The story of the game is expected to tie in with the reboot Star Trek released in 2009 and the upcoming sequel – Into Darkness.

Dead Island Riptide

In this survival first person horror game, you have to survive the hoard of the undead. The characters from the previous game escaped the terrors of Banoi and survived the apocalypse. Fate now flips them from the frying pan into the fire and they have to survive a hoard of Zombies once again.

Dead Island Riptide will launch for the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC on April 26. It will be priced at Rs. 2499.

Ninja Gaiden III: Razor’s Edge

Already available for the WiiU, this is Razor’s Edge’s debut on the PS3 and the Xbox 360. The game is an enhanced port of Ninja Gaiden 3 and includes all the downloadable content from the original game. In Razor’s Edge, you once again don the role of Ryu Hayabusa and the plot picks up some time after the events of Ninja Gaiden 2.

Ninja Gaided III: Razor’s Edge will release for the PS3 and the Xbox 360 on April 5. It will be priced at Rs. 2,499.

Defiance

Defiance is a third person MMO shooter. The game is set in a transformed Earth several decades in the future. The game takes place in the San Francisco Bay Area after a massive worldwide terraforming event led to the alteration of the landscape, the fall of plants and animal species and the rise to new species.
