Nintendo’s part of the E3 conference is one of the most awaited events of the year, and will contain numerous game announcements, apart from the unveiling of some new hardware!
Nintendo 3DS
Things are going to be huge at E3 this time for Nintendo, and this will be the stage that it will unveil the next iteration to its extremely successful portable gaming console, the DS, in the form of the 3D-without-glasses 3DS console. Easily one of the most looked forward to new hardware to hit E3 in the past couple of years, the timing of the 3DS’ launch is remarkable as well, giving consumers a choice between a 3D handheld device, or a rather expensive 3D alternative from Sony, and their PS3’s new 3D support.
The portable platform is easier to own, and shows greater promise of bringing 3D to the world than Sony’s current strategy, which will not be able to force people into investing thousands of dollars on 3D TVs, most especially if they just bought HD TVs.

Nintendo Wii
On the hardware front of the Nintendo Wii, we hope that Nintendo has finally decided to make the super fun console an HD-capable one. Unfortunately, there have been no industry indications yet.
The Vitality Sensor however, is a definite showcase event this E3, and is a fingertip pulse oximeter sensor that will “sense the user’s pulse and a number of other signals being transmitted by their bodies, and will then provide information to the users about the body’s inner world.” While we can’t really imagine any gaming applications for this, it will apparently allow for games that are meant to “relax” instead of excite.
The Legend of Zelda Wii 2
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess released on the Wii (as a GameCube port) over 4 years ago to some very extreme reviews (most of which were favourable), the next Legend of Zelda has been eagerly awaited by fans all over the world. The quintessential quest-based adventure game, and the flagship of the company, Nintendo has promised that the The Legend of Zelda Wii 2 will have an all new control scheme (interesting because the last iteration used the Wii-mote and nunchuk very, very well) that will put the MotionPlus attachment to full use, and is also sure to bring in a whole new level to the already complex and zealously-followed storyline. While an epic trailer is almost surely on the cards, actual shots of the gameplay, and maybe even a playable demonstration would make many people very happy.
