Airtel Xtream Premium vs Tata Play Binge Plus: Which is the best streaming service for you?
Airtel Xtream Premium offers 15 OTT apps versus 13 OTT apps on Tata Play Binge Plus.
Both offer a large collection of movies, shows, and live TV channels.
Both start at ₹149 a month, as of now
Airtel has just launched a new streaming service called Xtream Premium that offers 15 Indian and Global OTT platforms in one super app (which also goes by the same name). What this gives users is the ability to access its content from a variety of platforms/devices using a single login at just ₹149 a month. But, of course, there are caveats, which we will get into shortly. Also, while skimming through Airtel’s offerings, one would want to know how it stacks up against the other popular brand in the turf, i.e., Tata Sky Binge Plus which recently changed its name to Tata Play Binge Plus. So, let’s do just that.
Airtel Xtream Premium vs Tata Play Binge Plus Comparison: Content
Before we get into their differences, we will be looking at the streaming services only, not the hardware side of things. These so-called smart set-top-boxes are like a hybrid between streaming devices and traditional set-top-boxes. Meanwhile, the following streaming services boast portability, on-the-go entertainment through multiple devices, and a single subscription to a host of OTT apps.
Having cleared that, let’s begin.
Now, as mentioned already, Airtel Xtream Premium gives you a single sign-in to 15 OTT apps including names like SonyLIV, ErosNow, Lionsgate Play, Hoichoi, ManoramaMax, Shemaroo, Ultra, HungamaPlay, EPICon, Docubay, DivoTV, Klikk, Nammaflix, Dollywood, and Shorts TV.
The Airtel Xtream Premium library also consists of 10,500 movies and shows along with 350+ Live TV channels.
On the other hand, the Tata Play Binge+ brings a bouquet of 13 OTT apps including names like Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, Eros Now, Voot Select, SonyLIV, Sun Next, Hungama Play, among others. If this list seems more interesting than the Airtel one, then wait till you hear about the all-new combo pack that adds Netflix to the roster.
So, one disadvantage with Airtel Xtream Premium is the lack of big names like Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Hotstar.
Let’s now move one the other main factor to consider:
Airtel Xtream Premium vs Tata Play Binge Plus Comparison: Price and Availability
Airtel Xtream Premium is priced at ₹149 per month. But this is a limited-time offer post which will cost ₹999 a month. If you want to purchase an annual subscription, then it costs ₹1,499 now while after the introductory price, it will cost ₹5,999. The service is exclusive to Airtel customers and will be accessible across Mobiles, Tablets, Laptops through the app or web and on the TV through the Xstream set-top-box.
In contrast, Tata Sky Binge+ will set you ₹149 a month (with access to up to three mobile devices). And if you wish to access the content on both mobile handsets as well as TVs, then that would be ₹299 per month. Lastly, the Netflix combo pack costs ₹379 a month.
Apart from the above aspects, you should also consider the user interface of these two platforms.
