Learn about SMART DESIGN: IFDI Conference 2.0 Live Webcast with Intel

Updated on 10-Dec-2016

From the phone in your pocket, to the car that takes you to work, almost everything in the modern age is becoming smart and providing an enhanced user experience. Design solutions, services and products have matured with time to cater to the needs of multiple user segments and suit varied requirements and behaviour traits. Design is helping people across sectors create products and offer services that are user friendly and provide a delightful experience. This benefits user and producer of the products and services. Not investing in design is perilous in today’s environment of hyper competition and fast changing user preferences and opinions.

Some instances of Design implementation includes Healthcare, where patients and providers both stand to benefit from design carving out a bigger presence. Some uses of smart healthcare design are mobile medical applications or wearable devices that allow patients to capture their health data. Hospitals are using IoT to keep tabs on the location of medical devices, personnel and patients.

Industrial design in Agriculture helps in better understanding of the opportunities and resource savings by using wireless sensors and remote monitoring devices on the farms. It is transforming the agriculture industry and enabling farmers to contend with the enormous challenges they face. The industry must overcome increasing water shortages, limited availability of lands, difficult to manage costs, while meeting the increasing consumption needs of a global population that is expected to grow by 70% by 2050.

In this light Intel & the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India (DST), have come together again to foster a new wave of disruptive innovation that empowers citizens and transforms India by announcing the Intel & DST – Innovate for Digital India Challenge 2.0. This Challenge will benefit from the continued support of MyGov and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and will be anchored by T–Hub Foundation, among one of India’s largest incubators.

The Digital India vision of the Government seeks to empower every citizen with the benefits of technology by enabling digital transformation. Intel is committed to fulfilling this vision by not just creating a culture and ecosystem of innovation, but to steer innovation towards solving India’s problems.

Excited to know more about smart design and how it can help you? Well, you’re in luck. Intel is doing a pan-India campaign, Innovate for Digital India, and will be holding a live webcast with Ashish Deshpande where you’ll know how Design Solutions can create a smarter India on December 10th during an FB live at 1:30 PM. Register for the event here.

Over the years he has lead several design projects ranging from consumer appliances related to air, water & energy, design of Commonwealth Youth Games baton, Medical diagnostic Equipment, wearable electronics, exhibitions and retail environments. He, his team at Elephant Design have been a recipient of several awards and believe that design & designer both need to be responsible and that the true success of a project lies in business, people & ecological success. Ashish has been a speaker at various conventions, seminars and regularly conducts workshops on Growth by Design & Product Innovation Process. Recently, he was invited to speak at International Design Congress, Gwangju, Korea.
