iQOO Neo9 Pro camera will be a major upgrade: Take a look at these photos to get an idea

Updated on 21-Feb-2024

iQOO Neo9 Pro is all set to launch in a couple of days. With the launch right around the corner, we thought it would be a good time to talk about the smartphone and what we can expect from the successor of this year’s Digit Zero1 Award winner in the mid-range smartphone category.

So the iQOO Neo9 Pro, as most of you may have already seen, is a big upgrade over the iQOO Neo7 Pro. Not only in terms of the performance, but also in terms of the design, display, camera, and battery. Now, while the battery is subject to testing and design is subjective overall, the camera is something that I have been fortunate enough to test before the iQOO Neo9 Pro hits the shelves.

The iQOO Neo9 Pro will be launched with a dual rear camera setup that includes a primary 50-megapixel Sony IMX920 sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide angle shooter. Up front, we will get a 16MP selfie shooter. Now, while we are getting a dual rear camera setup, there is also 2x in-sensor zoom on the iQOO Neo9 Pro, where the camera captures a picture at a higher 50MP resolution and then applies the 2x zoom by cropping into the center of the photo.

The photos, you ask? Well, let’s take a look at some of the shots that I took from the iQOO Neo9 Pro during an exclusive showcase that was only limited to the tech media and influencers in India.

Now while my opinion on these photos can wait for a larger review, the camera isn’t the main focus of the iQOO Neo9 Pro. The smartphone, like its predecessors, brings flagship-level raw performance to a more affordable segment. For the first time in a mid-range smartphone, we will get an LTPO display with 144Hz refresh rate. There is also the largest vapour cooling chamber on any mid-range smartphone that we have seen so far.

All of that will be powered by not one, but two chips – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and iQOO’s Q1 supercomputing chip. And to add the run rate, we also get a bigger 5,160mAh battery with support for super fast 120W fast charging.

So while we wait for a full review of the iQOO Neo9 Pro on Digit, here is everything we know about the smartphone so far. Without giving you much, I will only say that the smartphone looks like a good upgrade over last year’s iQOO Neo7 Pro, despite the Neo7 Pro being an extremely powerful device for its price.
