It provides an insight into the life and work of five alternative comedians that took their show from stage to screen – with a few bumps along the way. The show also shares the impressions of producer Lorne Michaels who is credited with discovering the group. The group brought homosexuality into the open in the 1980s and was very radical in depicting queer-positive characters in the eighties.
