Vetrivel Movie (2016)

Rajamanickam and his pregnant step-sister in 1987, Kayavarnam, begin to share bad blood in their relations after an undesirable win in the then elections that causes Kayavarnam’s husband, who was contesting then, to hang himself. 
They meet again many years later. It’s in 2010 when Vetrivel’s brother Saravanan falls in love with Subha, who is Rajamanickam’s only daughter while Vetrivel likes an agriculture researcher, Janani. He implores his father to secure the match between Saravanan and Subha with Rajamanickam, who refuses stating caste differences. 
Vetrivel and Saravanan plan to kidnap Subha during a temple festival, and almost succeed but realize that they’ve brought another girl, Latha. Latha is set to marry Arul who is Kayavarnam’s son, and that their wedding is a week away. Vetrivel tries to correct his folly, but is too late when Latha’s father commits suicide thinking Latha had eloped with someone. But Latha knows that that wasn’t the reason—that Kavyavarnam must also have been very poisonous and harsh in her words towards her father that prompted him to end his life. 
Vetrivel marries Latha, a helpless decision that he, his parents, Janani and Latha all understand and accept. Rajamanickam tries to marry off Subha to his relative but Vetrivel steps in for his brother. Rajamanickam tries to marry Subha off to Arul in hopes to end the longstanding rivalry with Kavyavarnam. Fearing Vetrivel’s intervention, Rajamanickam drops off Subha in Kavyavarnam’s house but comes to know that Kavyavarnam is planning revenge by ditching Subha after the marriage. 
Rajamanickam realizes his mistake and agrees for Subha to marry Saravanan, and on his way back, he is kidnapped by Kavyavarnam. Arul tells Subha not to marry him if she doesn’t want to and also asks to call Saravanan to come take her home which she does. Only for Vetrivel and Subha to find out Arul’s men waiting to kill Saravanan on Kavyavarnam’s orders. Vetrivel saves Subha and Saravanan, and also Rajamanickam, following which Subha and Saravanan get married. 

Vetrivel was released on Apr 21, 2016 and was directed by Vasantha Mani .This movie is 2 hr 21 min in duration and is available in Tamil language. M. Sasikumar, Mia George, Prabhu and Viji Chandrashekhar are playing as the star cast in this movie. Vetrivel scores a 6.2 digit binge rating out of 10 and is a good movie to watch in the Drama genre.
