A thirteen-year-old boy Sam Cleary who lives with his mom accepts a job from a gang headed by Reza. He impresses the real gang leader, Cyrus, who rewards him with $110. However, Reza and his friends later attack Sam as payback but Joe Smith, who is a garbage collector fights off the bullies with his super strength which causes Sam to suspect that he is the Samaritan. He develops a friendship with Joe and learns to fight for himself. In the climax, it is revealed that Joe is actually Nemesis, and the Samaritan was in fact killed in the fire. His brother’s death causes Nemesis to change his ways and live life like a good citizen helping others.
