The word Dhamaka means blast and that’s what the movie is about. It starts by showing an ex-TV journalist hosting a radio show and receiving a call that the Sea Link behind him will be blown to smithereens. The journalist laughs off the threat only to realise that the terrorist was not bluffing - there is a huge blast in the city and countless die. The journalist is then blackmailed by the terrorist to go on national television and demand an apology from a political bigwig. Of course, this will not be easy for the journalist to do. Soon, he realises that his wife is in danger. Will he be able to save the city and his wife?

4. Film did not have a theatrical release as per the clause made by Kartik Aryan in his agreement for no OTT releases.When the makers decided to stream it on Netflix Kartik Aryan charged an extra fee from his usual fee to share profits of OTT release.
