8848 is an action-adventure movie that is based on an Everest expedition. the film is inspired by Sunita Hazra's life. Sunita Hazra was the sole survivor of the 2016 Everest expedition which included a team of four climbers from West Bengal. While three of the climbers perished in the icy range, Sunita Hazra was rescued and made it alive. Her journey on Mount Everest is replete with courage. She was the first Bengali woman to scale Mount Everest. The movie shows how her team climbed the dangerous mountain and the adversities they faced on the way.
